By laying people off, North American oil companies are giving OPEC what they want. We should keep everyone employed at lower wages and tell OPEC to stick it.

@J6Lti8l-1ehw, if you haven't noticed, the rest of the economy isn't exactly booming.
Interesting concept, if oil and gas is the only show in town. Unfortunately for oil and gas the other shows in town are competing for the labor. Only a fool would not jump ship and go work elsewhere for higher wages. The issue is supply and demand... supply and demand of oil and gas and labor.

That actually sounds awesome!
Better yet, cut the number of jobs in half, and make employees split the remaining jobs into half as many hours worked, and half the pay. Everyone keeps a job, and has time to work on their own entreprenuarial gigs on the side.
