As a research analyst in O&G stocks, I read through many blogs and sites to understand the internal workings of a company. One thing that stands out on this site is the vitreal hatred that exists in your company. At a time when people need to stand up and support the company, people here are trying to rip it apart. It is clear that COPs stated objectives are not supported by the employees (who I don't believe even know the direction laid out) and without that support, the company is doomed to fail. Failure starts with a mind set and most people here have resigned themselves to the ultimate collapse of the company. Even with sound fundamentals (and COP has great asserts and is working towards positive cash flow) no company can withstand a divisive workforce with intentions of subverting the goals of the company. I wish you all well in your upcoming layoff cycle and I hope that those who remain stay for the company and not for spite. Still long on COP.

COP is floundering and the employees realize it because of lack of leadership at the top and all levels.
Ryan and his ELT don't appear to know what they are doing.
All we are doing is cutting capital budgets and laying off staff. That's not a strategy and you don't need over $20 million a year in pay to come up with those ideas.
What's out value proposition? We say we are an independent oil and gas Co. but we are not structured like one nor do we behave like one.
The culture is still one of an integrated company.
We need change from the top.
That's right 1nas others were from Arco, Gulf Canada, Burlington and P66. Maybe your the one not from COP
Here we go! Now we all need to wear tin foil hats! Of course it seems reasonable that employees that were laid off might know something about the company they formerly worked for!
The other half that were laid off seems to have a lot of inside information. They must have a bug planted in COP.
@1nas What is the source of statistics or are you just blabbing?
Go push your psycho babble somewhere elde! Half the people that participate in this site are not from or have ever been from Conoco. The other half of participants have been laid off and are not happy with Conoco and therefore will say anything! It's still interesting to read and fun to watch!
@icis Most official reports are doctored. The report prepared by the company for instance would indicate that COP is one of the top employers that encourages innovation and diversity.
This site is not doctored and previous and present employees shares thier life experiences in the company on this site. There would be some extremes of course but you would also see a trend and get the truth from a site like this. A leader or researcher who relies on information only from direct and official reports and does not interact with the floor men or workers would get skewed information or half truth. This site sort of gives you inside information which you cannot get from any official report.
I love these posts by slack jaws trying to use words they don't understand nor apparently bother to google how to spell them. Thanks for your valuable commentat on our "asserts" mr "analyst"... Riiiight
The original poster is correct. Please don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.
Actually the bank will give you that tip themselves.
News flash. Don't buy COP stock. You can take that tip to the bank.
Cool story bro.
Ummm, this isn't a happy site, its a place for employees to blow off steam...why would you come here to research ya putz?
It proves there is no leadership. Lead by example and that starts at the very top. Yes COP has been going down for years and now it's on it's last leg.
You misspelled vitriol, and committed many errors, Mr Research Analyst.
