Probably you will not see this message. I hope you do. Please DO NOT join Intel. Intel puts up a really nice show to attract senior external talent to the company. Don't be fooled by it. I have been at Intel <1 year. I regretted my decision almost every day. I have had many unhappy days and sleepless nights. It is a horrible place for a senior external hire. The core issue is your direct manager - you have unqualified, incompetent people managing you. In no other company these people will be hired for their positions. To cover their lack of competence compared to their senior outside employee, these managers use micro-management, aggressive, directive style with you. They take credit for your work. They will make your work life unbearable. As long as these people (anti bodies, cancer whatever You call them) stay and be protected, Intel will not have a good future.
Most experienced external hires are not staying very long at Intel. it is just toxic for talented, experienced people. Leaders of the company do not walk the talk - there is no meritocracy. Favoritism is the only way. As long as you are one of the executives' favorite, no skills, prior experience required. Intel ostentatiously said that it is laying off its bottom performers in April. I doubt most of those people were low performers. I see a plenty of no or low value employees around.
Intel can't hire/retain new employees other than new graduates - even most of those do not come from top schools anymore...
