Isn't it sad that ConocoPhillips would keep someone who is so racist, misognisic, homophobic, and xenophobic as the poor guy in San Juan? Walking around the hallways, it's impossible to get away from the ignorant rants he makes in the name of "Christianity."
The fact that he hasn't been fired is shocking by a company that is so-called open and diverse.
I worked with John a few times before I was layed off. John is a good guy and just talks too much, but if he ever put anyone else down I would be the first to tell him to ease up (just the way I am). If it bothers you, tell him to ease up a little. He is untouchable anyway like someone earlier said (especially since I just found out he is still there). I'd stick ear plugs in my ears and turn up the music a little when he is around. Remember you are working for God and God is the final authority, so let Him judge everyone, when He does, on His own terms (sorry if I am coming across preachy). Meanwhile, you have work to do, yes?

I walked by him today and overheard him lecturing one of our LT members who is international.... I felt so bad for him Poore was making him so uncomfortable . I was shocked because originally I thought this post was rants of someone who just didn't like him but saw and overheard it for myself.
Ironic because the subject of this post spends no less than half of his work day talking and gossiping.
And when I look I the mirror I know that I don't hold negative opinions of people due to their color, religion, gender, or national origin. So I can safely say I am NOT "just as bad" as this person. Not even a chance.

I have lots of other examples of all four of these, as well as many of my friends.
I honestly have never heard him say anything in the way you are saying and I fit 3 of the 4 areas you state he is negative towards....but then again it is the "oilfield " industry that was the way back then and he is old probably heritage so they would pay out the assif they got rid of him
The amount of people defending this person is astounding. This is not the COP I thought I knew. As a white male who has been gritting my teeth through his ignorant statements for almost a decade, wondering how this bigot stays employed, I can say we are not all like him. He is a disturbed individual and not representative of what COP or the SJBU should be.
Unfortunately management does not want to hear about these issues. I've tried to bring up issues with this individual and others throughout the years. Nothing has come of it and management brushes it under the rug. At some point it's not worth risking my rating to continue speaking out.

Bigots aplenty in Bartlesville and Houston. ConocoPhillips is by no means diverse. The upper management (all the way to the top) refused to use the word diversity to promote the internal employee organizations for fear the company would be perceived to be anything other than diverse. So sad to watch a room full of middle age white men state the company is diverse.

Ah, but he/she (do you know for certain how this person gender identifies?) has the right to be all those things no matter how repulsive. How he acts at work is a different story due to federal law and documented company policies. Perhaps you should get to know this person (invite him/her to Starbucks for a bit of coffee and confab) instead of letting yourself be so completely repulsed by what is quite possibly a cry for help. It could be the world is changing much faster than he/she can change with it and he/she thinks it is soul crushing. Go forth, grasp the clear and present opportunity to help a fellow soul/worker/human being/earth inhabitant who is facing acute troubling issues.
