On Telecommuting and Layoffs at HPE

Now this is stupid, HPE wants us to go into the office even though NOT A SINGLE MEMBER OF THE TEAM IS IN THE OFFICE. We are all geographically distributed, different time-zones, etc.

I have to put up with a 90 minute one way commute to be in the office by myself, talking on the phone with people who are in different states or countries. No need to say, this is plain ridiculous.

And HPE layoffs? Do not start me on that topic. NOBODY IS SAFE! Every single person is on edge and our morale is so low it’s unbelievable. Every lunch hour is spent bitching about the company and people are so cynical it’s beyond anything that makes any sense.

Are they going to be able to turn things around? I’d say no, it’s all about managing the death process and slowly unwinding this once great company. What a shame!

I want to quit but I cant because I was relocated. I dont want to be stuck paying relocation + tax back to the company. Has anyone gotten out of paying relocation back? I just completed 90 days.

As soon as she got asked to come into the office to work, rather than get to "work from home" she went for another position and called it a "promotion"

A perfect example of planned #H1B abuse

We HP and was asked to come from a perfectly good job but promised more technical abilities and chances to show my stuff. A true pipe dream as I watch good knowledgeable people get the layoff notice and our customers are suffering big time. Jobs are going to Indian workers brought onshore because they will work like dogs even though our client cant understand a word they say and neither can we. Morale is in the toilet and everyone is just trying to hang on as long as they can. I don't see HP around in five years andI can only hope a decent conglomerate buys it out. Meg Ryan can continue to collect her huge salary and bonus and try to pretend to the employees that HP will make it.

No raises in the last two years shows whats coming. I have always tried to do my very best but it gets harder as I am truly embarrassed for our client and the service we are NOT providing anymore.

Asking for a raise at HPE is about the same of asking to be laid off.

My administrative supervisor is in Colorado Springs. On one of my accounts, he is in Charlotte, On another, he is in Macon, My third account he is in Michigan.

I was assigned a cube in Alpharetta since I live in the Atlanta area. I haven't gone up there since that was assigned in March 2015. No one has asked where I work from, although I say I go up to Alpharetta occasionally, since actually I do.
