Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

C'mon corporate.. get out of your offices and into the stores!

There is a lot of smoke and mirrors you are not seeing through... what you think is happening at the store level is a facade... the numbers don't tell you everything you think they do... forget the dog and pony show and show up unannounced ... or you won't know what you've lost until it's gone.

8alw - "corporate paid steak dinner and beverages that you expense." Right.... More like McDonalds - but don't go over the per diem or it will come out of your check. Things have change a bit since el jefe came to town.

Hey @FLP7CIx-8hgo, if these "corporate" people are in the stores, then they are blind if they are not still seeing instocks issues, the quality of produce, staffing (I have been in stores where I literally had to go find someone to help me). Try hitting a store at 8PM sometime instead of on your way to the corporate paid steak dinner and beverages that you expense.

Most people I work with at Corporate are in stores every single day. And when we travel for meetings (Vendors, Conferences etc.) around the country, we visit the stores in the area, always unannounced (everyone in HQ realizes that MN stores are a different breed than other regions). This is all in addition to the more formal/planned store walks. So who exactly are you referring to? What area of the country or stores should we be looking at? What are we missing? Instocks? Presentation? Assortment? Everyone I know cares deeply, but non-specific comments aren't productive.
