Do you like office politics, where everyone fights for visibility and people take credit for work they don't do? Do you like nepotism and cronyism? A place where managers have too much power because the HR process is broken, where managers promote people who don't do any work by giving them credit for work done by others, and hold back promotions of people who deserve it? This would NEVER happen at companies like Google; the process would prevent it.
It's a place where certain groups of people band together to promote each other (coughIndianscough). It's a place where the office politics are out of hand even when you consider the size of the company. It's a company that's so arrogant, HR doesn't even give referral bonuses. They think they are the best and that should be good enough to get referrals. Who does that? Not Apple, not Google, not most startups that aren't even profitable yet.
I have a nickname for Qualcomm. I call it the Titanic, because it's taking on water and sinking fast. The high end phone manufacturers (Apple and Samsung) are making their own chips. Intel apparently just took half of the iPhone market too. Qualcomm is screwed and is losing more good people every day. I #GTFO recently because I couldn't stand the BS anymore. I mean...if you are desperate for a job, you can apply, but otherwise, don't bother. There are much better companies go work for.
