Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Now Oracle only has to change its values (are you listening, new CEO?)

The company has blundered, true. But recent events are an opportunity, too.
The good: enormous IP assets, a good portfolio, probably a bit too much debt on the balance sheets, a still loyal workforce (against better interest, if you believe this website).
The bad: an irrational cloud focus, a very heavyhanded license enforcing group, a disregard for our existing customers and no way to defend it all.

Internally the result is cynicism and an almost communist disconnect between corporate messaging and the reality on the ground. Externally our customers hate Oracle sales and licensing with a vengeance.

Now there's opportunity here, too. Embrace the existing customer, embrace the employees, crossfertilise the current portfolio. Add a sprinkling of honesty on licensing, dump some purchases, clean up the balance sheet. And most of all: forget about promoting the cloud as some magic mushroom.

So if you are hunting for a new job, CEO to be: that's the recipe. It fits on a coffeemug. Do everybody on this forum and all Oracle customers a favour. This could be your finest hour.

The C-level executives of IBM and Oracle keep getting rewarded for cost cutting, layoffs, and tearing their companies to shreds. Wall Street doesn't care about declining revenue. They'll buy the stock if it pays dividends. Keep inflating the stock price with buybacks. They've literally made 9-figure sums. Why do anything different?

LE is Running Oracle, everything goes through him. Nothing is gonna change.

This is the only thing that matters.

The new CEO is likely to be another penny-pincher and cost-cutter. It will be the same, LE will continue to drive it into the ground, it would take actual work to make a difference and he has no intention of doing that.

@11DOFcSz-hah Instead of counting on The Layoff to change itself, you can find a new forum if The Layoff is not a good fit for you. If you are still posting at The Layoff, that means you still like it so stop posting and go to another forum filled with with boot lickers

Instead of counting on Oracle to change itself, you can find a new job if Oracle is not a good fit for you. If you are still working at Oracle, that means you still like it so stop complaining and go back to work since they paid you for your service and not bad mouth it.
