"Obviously people can tell which numbers are real"

Easy enough to figure out. The "team" deletes all posts with accurate Xirrus numbers and allows the inflated ones to remain.

if RVBD allows Xirrus to build new products, then, Xirrus can sell much higher. Extreme brought Aerohives for 270+ millions in June. But, RVBD managers and Ops said ....

If they want to sell sh, why not split That into a independent entity, separating from SC. If you want to sell in parts might as break up the BUs esp the ones that don’t overlap with each other.

Hope cmbn keeps the people around. I know lot of investment was needed to add support for wifi6, esp when market leaders already had products and announcements. I can’t imagine cmbn bought them for the hardware which is now legacy. It must be the GUI however bad. Even customer base has dried up. I’d imagine the hw , marketing, pm teams would overlap and present opportunities for cuts. But again I am speculating .

Yes, there were a few good quarters back in 2017-early 2018.

It was $30m/qtr when rvbd bought it, it has steadily declined since to about $5m per qtr. something to do with letting their sales people let go. I don’t know where you get your numbers from.

"more likely that the rest of the legacy Rvbd tech will get sold "

Agreed completely. The SH revenue stream isn't growing but has a lot more value than Aternity (Me-too-nity?) or Xirrus. Can't imagine they sold the latter for more than $5-10M - despite the naive numbers one sees below.

@10raGQJ2-1int - you've gotta be smoking crack if you think Xirrus was making $30M/Q

Scuttlebut I'm hearing is that it is far more likely that the rest of the legacy Rvbd tech will get sold and the Aternity division will be kept and IPO'd a la Dynatrace.

Xirrus was making more than$30m per quarter at the time of acq

$30m is too less, there must be more to it. They raised north of $100m even before rvbd bought them. Most people had good titles and drove good cars.

"did we get back the $100m we paid?"

Unlikely as RVBD bought Xirrus for under $30M,

Cambium rumors were on for a long time. They should buy SCON as well, might be more suitable for sd-WiFi. How much did they pay, did we get back the $100m we paid?

When Riverbed bought OPNET for $1 billion, did any of it's employees make money off of it? When TB bought Riverbed, did any employees make money? and no, I am not referring to VPs and above.

Good news for all parties involved. Rain the cash, public company is great option. If we can also sell aternity, it will be good for rvbd

The vision was to integrate with SDWAN and have a fully unified end to end cloud networking solution. They never got further than putting a button in one console that opened the console of the other.

Xirrus was junk from day one. Huge mistake for RVBD to buy that company, and a bigger mistake to not dump it faster. The execs were totally clueless about just about everything.
