Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Smart, Hasbro!

Look what Hasbro just did. This is what FP should be doing. FP needs content.

The ROI for Hasbro is greater by buying Eone rather than Mattel.

Since Hasbro is spending $4 billion on Entertainment One, there is no chance of them buying Mattel. That's why the stock is plummeting. Bend over and kiss your arse goodbye!

The only thing YK made sure to purchase was his 15mil home in BevHills. He’s not thinking of the company, only himself. SMH.

In May of 2014, Mattel hires RD as Cheif Brands Officer. He is tasked with growing and strengthening Mattel's brands. Mattel's price per share was $39.43. At the time of this post, Mattel's stock is now worth $9.31 a share. Not only is RD still a Mattel employee, he was promoted twice in the past five years and is now President and Chief Operating Officer. Is he doing a good job? Does the current stock price reflect on his performance?

Hasbro was really smart to pass on Mattel. The product line and inept management is so much of a turn off it wouldn't even buy it on the clearance rack.

And failure after failure, all RD has to do is say that the intention was good and we have to take risks. Let's face it. Everything he has touched has been a disaster. Everything. Every. Thing.

@10FW5VEf-3qbt That's just not true, Mattel spent around 30 million dollars acquiring Fuhu and Sproutling a few years ago and I'm pretty sure at least one Sproutling employee still works for Mattel, so those acquisitions weren't a total loss.

Mattel or FP buying anything is the same thing as lighting a big pile of money on fire.

Mattel completely screwed up buying HIT and effectively ran the key IP into the ground. Case closed.

Umm. Didn't FP already do this by buying HIT Entertainment years ago. I remember the excitement around FP owning Thomas, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Mike the Knight. Hmm, how did that work out?

JH this sounds like a perfect opportunity for you to jump on. A Barbie Peppa COLLAB! Lipstick on a Pig. It will be UH-MAZING.

The real news here is that Hasbro looked at Barbie and then looked at Peppa Pig and then gave it's 4 billion dollar rose to Peppa. 🌹🐖

They acquired whole of Entertainment One from eOne Family to eOne Music to eOne Television. Hasbro is now a vertically integrated consumer products and media conglom. RD and Ynot must ba so jelly. 😝

We tried that OP, back in 2011. How's that's working out these days?

Good luck with that. They can't even afford to remodel their Team Center.
