Ever noticed how putting in the extra effort at Allstate gets you nowhere? You bust your butt every single day and still don’t see a promotion or raise. Instead, you just get more work heaped on your already full plate. Management probably thinks, “oh, he’s reliable, let’s give him even more!” So what’s the point?

Do the absolute bare minimum, and prioritize your next move in silence. The job market is horrible currently but it will change. Get that certification on the company’s dime, etc. and update your resume. Do not hold out hope that things will improve it’s the same game year after year. The bloated salaries of “leadership” are laughable, while the worker bees keep the day to day operations afloat. Know your worth, get what you need here then move on!

Hopefully, India and the vendors will be ready to take over us expensive United States workers. Getting laid off would be the best thing that could happen to us. Everyone here is miserable and just faking it because we need a job and are too burnt out to go after something new. There are so many better companies and agencies to work for. Allstate su-ks the soul right out of a person. Beware of that and make a plan to get out. The layoffs can’t come soon enough for all of us to

I'm not worried about being "redundant". I am hoping it happens and I get my almost 2 decades worth of severance. Just sliding by until my number is called. Something else you have to play the game for as there is no loyalty with these goons.

Not my experience to be honest but if it's how you feel then should probably look elsewhere as nothing worse than not feeling valued.
Also, can 'do the required' if want but can't complain if redundancy comes your way. You can go above and beyond and still get made redundant but at least then you can complain about it
Do the required you have to do and nothing more. Employment is a two way street. They get back what they put out for. I decided a long time ago that the con that is the pay bands and merit each year solidified my effort and work output. They get the work that I feel my pay and treatment are worth and nothing extra.
