Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Mark your calendars

Oct. 3: Bloodbath

Oct. 4: Town Hall w/hollow reassurance until the next layoffs (theme: Sorry You Lost Your Besties)

Town Hall set in the land of the nice people. What a coincidence.

Nice start time, too.
Showing blatant disdain for those on West Coast, assuming any remain.

  1. 5 hour commute? First I call BS like all the people that work 70 hour. I will buy a bit over and hour each way. BTW, work from home that day.

@1abg+1oHsMNKg Because they’d rather come on here post about Woe Is Me and attempt to garner sympathy while commiserating with other dolts who’ve accepted the same ishtty situation.

Threads like this keep me coming back every time I want to give up. Too much gold in here to miss. I’d ask why so much drivel but that’s be like asking a ‘Ta-d if they are happy with life. Of course they are, they don’t know any better. BABA BOOEY

@sya+1oHsMNKg Only an absolute !di0t would accept a 2.5hr commute. You fit right in here at Wells. Especially when you lack the neurons to process the fact that NONE of your complaints have anything to do with listening to a meeting.

No wonder this company is a dumpster fire incarnate.

Oct 4 is not at all about the employees. IF there is any big layoff that occurred or Oct 3 or will be happening or announced, Oct 4 will be to reassure investors and be more candid before that earnings report on Oct

  1. Assuming, of course, this one is at also cancelled.

WF is not employee focused on any level.

Pssst, you aren’t required to watch it, and you can watch the replay afterwards if you really need to see it. Why get bent out of shape around a (mostly) quarterly event that has no bearing on anything?

@qmy+1oHsMNKg. If true, retiring with multiple millions & never doing what he was hired to do: namely, fix the bank.

I wonder how the local governments are feeling with these layoffs- there would be no one left to commute to make the supporting businesses thrive and there would be millions of dollars in unemployment which would be essential for these families to survive. I thought California would lead the way with the HQ there - Governor Newsom - show the way please.

So, where is the guy who spoke to the media even before caring to talk to employees first about the layoffs? That guy should come and field some questions from some folks who really want to know why. Why do the investors and profit come first than own employees who are working tirelessly to build the customer base that we have today? Guess they are now all liabilities on the balance sheet? Redundant because they were supposed to “follow orders”?

Tolstedt’s boss was Stumpf, not Sloan, but you are spot on with everything else. Might want to buy a Powerball ticket if what you think will happen does actually happen.

@ucp

Some of have very long commutes (4+ hrs roundtrip, incl. train). Peak traffic is during that time (less so each 1/2 hr later). Try getting out from under your rock and showing some compassion.

@cfx

The bloodbath refers to the inevitable layoffs right after next payday and right before Town Hall (common routine).

Gotta' get 60-day notice completed by Dec. 15 to avoid 401K payout (ensures staff off the books by 1st of the year, too).

@wbn

Yes, 8 a.m. is too early when you are reqd. to be in the office and have a 2 1/2 hr commute (each way).

How would East Coast employees like to have the Town Hall at 5 or 6 p.m. PST?

Omg Saul is totally going to fawn over Charlie and wish him well in his “retirement” just like Sloan did with Tolstedt in 2016 when she “retired” out of the blue and a couple weeks later the b0mb went off.

But the day before this happens will be a bloodbath and Charlie will say he created enormous “efficiencies” right up until the end.

More like spilled the gasoline and tossed the match as he walked out the door with his golden parachute.

Honestly I think Charlie is leaving, not a bloodbath. Just my two cents.

Am sure Saul is already shopping for a new extra chunky pair of hipster glasses that he can debut during the fireside chat, along with cute matching coffee mugs for him and Charlie. “Umm, let me take a sip of my coffee, mmm, I love coffee…”.

The timing is bizarre. CS did not do a townhall after the last quarterly earnings as is the normal practice.

The next quarterly earnings are to be announced on Friday, Oct 13th. That means the CEO would normally do a townhall about a week after Oct 13.

So yes, put me in the camp that says Tuesday, October 3rd will be a bloodbath and this townhall is to try to sooth over the mass firings from the day before.

@ucp LMAO, I miss every town hall because I don't work standard "banker's hours", as my job requires. I actually do stuff that keeps this company running.

OP is assuming WF execs give a hoot about reassuring employees. Recent history would show they do NOT.
