Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Who does Charlie stand up for?

Charlie stands up for himself, his money, filling top jobs with largely white male former cronies, his chainsaw, his stock options, his lackluster Jamie Dimon impersonation, his friends at the country club, and stepping on others to get ahead,

What does Charlie NOT stand up for? His employees.

I do agree with the original poster’s assessment, although not his judgementalism. It is true that Charlie stands up for himself, his money, his chainsaw, his stock options, his lackluster Jamie Dimon impersonation, his friends at the country club, and stepping on others to get ahead. It’s also true that Charlie NOT stand up for his employees None of that is admirable, but it is ok in competition. Business, after all, is a blood sport.

The one point where Charlie does cross the line is in filling top jobs with largely white male former cronies, and he has demonstrated his racism in several statements which is why they wisely keep him away from the mic. Interestingly enough, while he is super tight with his inner circle it may be more a matter of money, wealth and privilege than race. I feel that way because his layoffs disproportionately target older white males. But here again, they are not wealthy country club compatriots. Charlie clearly struggles with race but his real flaw is greed and disgust at what he views as the lower class. He was raised wealthy, so this may have been normal to him

Of course nobody said anything like that, but you’re only wasting time and energy by trying to talk logic with a team member from the failed San Fran Sicko public schools.

A more interesting subject is how Wells can possibly recruit talented staff from the failed San Fran Sicko schools. Most of the intelligent high tech wealthy come here from the heartland. I just don’t see these people wanting to interact with branch and wealth advisor folks who struggle to come up with a coherent sentence. Shouldn’t we be recruiting talent from the heartland where education is still effective?

OP here.

I have not flattered Charlie, but I have “called anyone a name”. I woke up this morning to the “Charlie is Doing a Great Job” post, and decided to post my own take on the situation. I have not embarrassed myself, nor said anything that is untrue. I did not come after the other OP. He/she has a right to their opinion and so do I. I truly don’t care whether anyone agrees or disagrees with me. I pose your same list of bizarre questions back to you. And you are so quick to jump and portray yourself as smarter–than–the–average bear, I’m fairly certain all stakeholders are hoping you don't do anything important for the bank.

Shocking that someone using the “–derangement syndrome” term cheers on a swamp monster who brings in his own corrupt cronies, while deluding his fanbase into thinking they’re the one rooting out corruption. 🤔

I'm really impressed with your name calling skills. If you're done embarrassing yourself, please show the class how the comment you quoted makes any mention of morality, agreement with the CEO or the board or anyone else, or support for any decisions that are being made, good/bad/otherwise. The comment was entirely factual. You've read something, made incorrect assumptions based on your own biases, responded as if those assumptions were true, and then doubled down on demonstrably false comparisons. Please tell me that you don't do anything important for the bank.

  • and that has no relationship whatsoever with the "sounds like you're saying" response. Maybe in your head combined with a whole lot of bias, but not in actuality. Keep plugging away at that reading comp though.

Try to keep up:

“ Charlie works for the Board. Not sure why this is so difficult for some people to figure out. They hired him, they set his pay, and they give him the marching orders..”

Hate to say it, but OP did not say anything that is untruthful. The truth is what gets people stirred up and racing to rationalize.

If OP had said Charlie is fat and bald and 7 foot tall, you all would just disregard and get on with your day.

I don’t mind Charlie either. But I can see why dead wood hates him. Their days are numbered and they have no talents nor want to work.

To the Charlie– lovers.

So it sounds like you are saying that as long as a select group of people hires or pays an individual good money to step on other people, than it’s alright. I can steal from you and give it to my friends because they paid me good money to do it.

Good to know.

The “Charlie is living in your heads” stooge is back. Repetitive boring nonsense. You should put that on every post whether it applies or not. Oh wait....you already do.

I can't figure out why these posts keep popping up. The share holders own the company, the board and executive committees set the strategic and tactical direction of the company and we're all paid to do the work to make the company successful for the share holders. There are maybe 1000 people at the top who are important to this process and over 300,000 of us who are not in the least important.

If you want to feel more important, best go work for a small company. Nothing here is going to change.

Also, 3 threads on Charlie this morning? This is what I mean when I say that Charlie is living in some people's heads. When you post 3 threads about some guy you've never met and who has no real impact on your life, that guy lives in your head.

Super–defensive knee jerk response from someone that knows it's true in 3...2...1...

@OP. Why do you want to work for someone who does not care about you? You should use your time and energy to find another job. Ranting 24/7 won’t do any good.

It's easy for you to blame him. But the fact is, this place is ran by tons of people who could also do better. You're giving him too much.
