“What doesn't make sense is all the phony wishes to get a layoff notice“

Your inability to understand others situations or wants is your issue. Your posts are so angry. Why - because some people have a different view or life situation. And resorting to kindergarten level name calling? Do better. Be better.

Meanwhile, I’ll be waiting out WF for my displacement notice and severance package!

"You are assuming those who want layoffs plan to re-enter the traditional job market"

You are even d-mber than I originally thought! I’m not assuming anything, only used the one example from another poster on the bad tech job market. Go back to Reading Comprehension 101.

As far as the total attempt to justify your phoniness on wishing for a layoff, how stupid can you be? You want people to believe you are just hanging around wasting your time at an employer you WANT to leave just to get paid severance money? How lame can you get?

I could care less about what position people take on any issues, what needs they may have, and realize the world is so big there is still plenty of room in it for an ignoramus such as you seem to be portraying yourself as.

Wake up and smell what you are cooking! It really stinks!

You are assuming those who want layoffs plan to re-enter the traditional job market. It’s a broad blanket judgement that is off base for some of us.

Some of us don’t and won’t. Some will. Some feel confident about landing another job. Some may be a-ok taking a lower paying job (IF necessary) post severance and are willing/able to take that gamble (or even welcome it!). Some don’t have to work. Some will start their own business. Some will float on contract roles. Some have saved up for this day or other financial means.

It’s astonishing that you think everyone feels the same way you do or has the same needs & situation that you and others may have. It’s a BIG world out there…

"So do you understand this whole layoff logic?"

Not only do I understand it I am very sorry it is happening. Absolutely agree, they need to cut jobs, the employee headcount is still too bloated. Sending them off-shore to overseas third world workplaces is an outrageous corporate strategy and should be condemned.

What doesn't make sense is all the phony wishes to get a layoff notice especially now in view of the point that one poster here so aptly offered:

"And the job market for tech jobs su-ks for tech jobs right now."

Sensible huh?

So do you understand this whole layoff logic? They need to cut US staff and send jobs overseas. Sensible huh?

Hopefully anyone in Saint Louis that posted they want a layoff notice gets one deservedly so, and it saves the job of another, more sensible employee!

"You just don’t seem to be able to grasp the fact that others’ situations may differ from yours"

And another phony rears their phony face here to soothe the sorely exposed nerve that seems to have been struck LOL. NObody believes you so give up the ghost, you lose!

Hopefully your layoff saves a real employee's job!

@1ifs+1qVIFtat You just don’t seem to be able to grasp the fact that others’ situations may differ from yours. Perhaps you don’t have much of a financial cushion or confidence in your marketability to other employers, or maybe (hopefully) you actually like it here. Keep up your posts all you want, but the facts stubbornly remain in place: A great many of us would be overjoyed to collect a severance, and leave.

Posters here wanting layoff notice doth protest too much on this thread. Looks like the truth struck a nerve with all your blathering nonsense trying to justify your phoniness.

Hoping your layoffs save serious employee jobs!

“Everyone assumes there will be layoffs. Is this our new culture” Charlie said there would be to a Wall Street analyst in December and our cfo showed over 900 million for severance. What will it take for you to believe there will be layoffs?

"Unless everyone on this site that is begging for a package is 64+, it's silly to keep saying the "pick me" nonsense."

"Calling BS on all those "Call me please", "will be there early", "I want it", "begging for that meeting", posters."

pfffft. After my financial advisor told me I didn't have to work if I didn't want to when I was 55. I told him that I would stay at wf as long as they kept paying me. free money. and I had the special freedom of knowing that if I got the severance, I get another 14 months of free money.

It worked out well............ :)

@1pdc+1qVIFtat Speak for yourself. I and many others I know are fervently hoping for a layoff and severance. Everyone’s situation—financial cushion, support from family, anticipated ability to get a new job, level of dissatisfaction with their current job, number of f—ksleft in inventory—is different. Personally, if the company offered voluntary buyouts with even a fraction of the current severance, I’d jump on it. Meanwhile, as I’d suggest to all others who are miserable, take concrete steps to start extricating yourself from this company; I certainly am, and several months of salary without working would be icing on the cake.

Y’all don’t speak for everyone and certainly not for me.

I absolutely want to be displaced. I hope it finally happens tomorrow. I’m not 64 years old but I am going to be just fine without WF. ;)

Waiting for my WF severance package is going out on my own terms. No reverse mind game b-s going on here. Not needed. Peace.

Calling BS on all those "Call me please", "will be there early", "I want it", "begging for that meeting", posters.

NObody wants to lose their jobs, especially now when many places are letting lots of employees go. It's just a coping mechanism, thinking that repeatedly asking to get a layoff notice will actually lessen the chance that it really happens to them. Where do you all think you are going to find new jobs? On the unemployment line, while waiting to get your monthly unemployment check?

I really hope you all do get laid off so it saves the jobs of all that want to keep them!

Karma is a BEyotch as you will soon find out!

I know you were downvoted but so true. Unless everyone on this site that is begging for a package is 64+, it's silly to keep saying the "pick me" nonsense. Many decent companies are laying off. I work with someone who's husband got laid off a year ago in tech with another company, and can't find another job. And they're panicking since his severence is ending. So if you really do want to leave, do it on your terms. Be careful what you wish for.

Those saying they are looking forward to it, are just trying to soften the blow if it comes. They keep telling themselves that it doesn’t matter, but when the bills come due or you want to eat out, or the job hunt is slow.. you won’t be so cavalier.

For many that don’t want to be laid off, tomorrow will be especially cruel because they just received false hope due to raises and bonuses. Some likely started the process to upgrade their housing or transportation or pay off their bills for the first time in a long time and then, bam! No job for you!
