Unemployment March21 Layoff

Those who were laid off in March. Anyone having issues with unemployment? Status still pending. I’m currently still unemployed. This my first time applying for unemployment, the process seem to take forever. Just curious if anyone having the same issue or can provide some insights on unemployment.

Ok, for the folks that are having trouble getting in you have these two choices.

One is call in exactly at 8:02 am on Friday Morning. Do not call at 8:00 the systems are down for two minutes rejecting thousands of people who then redial and get booted from the 8:02 people.

The 2nd approach is that your local senator or assembly office will work the case for you. You can to contact them and they will help you with the issue. They know about the issue.

I have tried using their email system and regular mail system but it is not effective.

Yes, I spent over 4 weeks calling in. Your best best is right in morning but a few minutes after since everyone is calling at 8:00 and they will get rejected. And then you can get in,

As far as jobs are concern. Yes, it is bad since older folks have a tougher time. If you are young, you have a better chance.

You can check UI online. if any of your claims are pended, you must call in to get it fixed. There are programming problems in the system due to Covid so they will tell you how to file the claim to get the benefits since they change the rules on reporting separation pay which should no longer be reported at all once they noted in the system so payments will work. But you have to call them to fix it on your record. The system was not meant to deal with massive unemployment.

Yes, it is a mess.

Yes! I was laid off in March, I have claimed my weeks 3 times that’s 6 weeks, have not received any payments. You can never get through on the phone. I did the online chat several times (try that). They were trying to determine my benefit amount I notice no weekly amount showed. I had to send them my W2, and now it’s been escalated to the determination unit. I’m in Florida try the online chat.

Post ID: @zbp+1aHaKsZQ so sorry to hear that about CA. Every bit of income is needed when laid off and while you can appreciate they are in a backlog, 4-6 weeks is crazy. Best of luck to you and anyone else in a State with those issues.

In Ca EDD is behind processing claims. Could take 4 to 6 weeks but would get back pay . Everything is mess.

I was part of the layoff and am in Missouri. I didn't have any issues. What State is causing delays?

I would call UC and see what the hold up is. It takes forever to get through but be persistent.
