Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

C suite AI psychosis

Because isolated C suite (sycophants for slick consulting salesman) clowns have no idea what tech really is, even if they are tech C suite. They are spending million on tech they have never seen, haven't touched, and have only read about or seen a sterile lab environment proof of concept.

@12k who cares if it was quoted in a business journal. If you can't answer the basic questions about what is in these articles why should you believe them? People accept to much too easily just because it is posted online. Ask questions and if you can't get answers be suspicious of the source and their motives.

Lots of copium being smoked int this thread. OpenAI's PR firm maybe?

Microsoft did just kick OpenAI to the curb after bragging that they were going to make a 10x RoI on their OpenAI investment.

@12c:

Who is ...
why should anyone care what he thinks?

Interesting questions coming from a person posting anonymously on a site about layoffs (as opposed to being quoted in a business journal).

@zb couple questions:

  • Who is Apollo Global Management ( also referenced as Apollo Asset Management in the same article) and why should anyone care what they think?
  • Who is John Zito and why should anyone care what he thinks?
    Bloomberg needs to make money, everything they publish isn't gold.

AI is relatively new in the world of technology. There is a learning curve. Similar problems happened when PCs were introduced into the work environment in the early 90s. Compute devices have since evolved into many forms with each filling a different need. Give people and AI time to adapt. It is not going away so stop complaining about it an learn how to use it correctly.

the new passdown is efficiency of AI use

Or just don’t use it incorrectly like a low-IQ person:

Apollo’s Zito Says Too Much AI Spending Is for ‘Low IQ’ Tasks

Amanda CantrellJune 10, 2026 at 11:30 AM EDT

Apollo Global Management’s John Zito said too many companies are deploying artificial intelligence tools for relatively mundane tasks that don’t justify the significant costs and computing power.

“Our IQs are so low that we’re actually using” AI tools “to check out the recipe for, you know, French toast,” said Zito, co-president of Apollo Asset Management. “That’s where you’re seeing the prices go up.”

@d1 that is really flawed logic to make you feel better about your inadequate skills. They are asking you about using AI tools because they use them. They don't need to hire dead weight that needs to be trained. There are plenty of qualified candidates and they get to pick. If you can't answer the questions you don't get selected.

@c9 the reality is that you are afraid of the future and where you land in it. There is no verifiable substance in the videos being referenced in these posts. They are just saying what you want to hear. In some ways I don't understand everybody's aversion to AI when they are more than happy to accept nonsense from other sources on the internet and even pass them alone as evidence to support what they wanted to hear.

Here is a thought for you about the rash of expensively produced videos on the demise of AI. Who is paying for them and what is their motive? What if it is the large AI companies or their investors? Here is the motive, if you think that AI spending is already reversing because the videos told you so than you are less likely to take action like push your government reps to restrain the growth. They are creating a diversion...

When you read or watch something on the Internet instead of blindly accepting it as fact maybe you should ask yourself some questions and asking more question is better. If you can't answer the question maybe consider it a suspicious source.

  • Who is publishing this information
  • Why do they want me to believe this
  • How am I supposed to react
  • Can I verify what they just told me

Don't believe everything you read or hear.

Go read about people like Roger Stone and how they devised methods of creating diversions. Our brains are being influenced on a daily basis from countless sources and most people are oblivious to it. They just go on eating their bio-engineered food like products and maybe wonder a little about why they are fat and d-mb.

@da
how is efficiency going to be measured?
just like they asked us to go all in on AI a few weeks ago ?
mgmt has no clue what they want or how to get there.
They are only following the crowd. Push us to tokenmaxx when all the competitors are doing and now pulling it back when it's en vogue.

I wouldn't put it past them to shut it all down when Oracle and OAI gets a divorce and they aren't getting the AI tokens for free or almost free.

reduce ai usage is the new synergy BS passdown

No, the new passdown is efficiency of ai use.

You’ve got sufficiently advanced wetware. Apply it to appropriate and efficient use of AI resources. Don’t be an American at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

In every single interview I have had, from phone screens to team interviews, I have been asked one question: do I have experience using AI to get the job done?

This tells me one thing: they have been mandated by their command chain to use AI. Problem is, no one knows how to effectively use it to increase productivity, or even knows if it can actually be done, so they are hoping that you do and can teach them.

OP, all you are doing is regurgitating what you heard on some youtube video. Learn to think for yourself. You are just as much a clown as the people you are complaining about.
