Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

A quiet wave in SBG

In the past 2 years Prabhat Singh had lead the group to sink. He is not allowed to hire. Everyone is leaving him. Teams have shrunk by 50% because people we're unhappy. He expects people to work on the weekends so outages will happen on Saturday and customers won't notice. We have an outage every single day.
Someone had shut down the flow on SBG and the whole group is on a KTLO mode. It's just a matter of time until there's going to be a massive cut but the best way it to shake down top down and not bottom up

@2s0 you must say yes for every stupid decision from elt and slt. So India is the right place

Seems everything is being shifted to India due to their yes-men attitude to working, product, quality, reliability and decent staff be damned.
Cheaper though right?

Only in SBG someone as low talent and low IQ like Karen Kui is hired and get promoted. This person works remotely from Canada while there so many talented and smart workers in US are unemployed.

When Probhat was hired at SBG, there were seven directors under him. In less than a year all seven were gone. Some left, some were laid off. This guy is a horrible manager and his boss miss Shaila does not get it.

Do not blame Probhat. Blame the id-ot who hired him.

Yeah I work in SBG and it’s 100% not safe. Just such poor leadership and execution.

@fm SBG stands for Security Business Group. Representative products include firewalls such as the ASA, FTD, and FMC series. In addition other security related products such as Secure Workload, Duo, and the Identity Services Engine are under the SBG umbrella. If you go to Cisco’s web site at the link below you will see a list of products under their purview.

@ek it is terrible because the long runners have no clue about software and are proud to be 15 years at the same company. D-mbest and proudest

SBG is a monument to CRs pride. This was his Big Idea to move Cisco past the cyclical issues of a hardware business. Problem was, Cisco was and still is absolutely terrible at software. SBG has been mostly protected from cuts because it was CRs baby but the day he leaves you can expect more decisive action. No way to fix it. I expect the next CEO to try to sell it off as one business unit to either private equity like Silver Lake or maybe a conglomerate like Broadcom.

Not sure why people think SBG is on a hiring freeze, Bangalore org has been expanding. Only frozen in North America.

Tech leads and managers are clueless. They are firing the last ones that care or know their sh-t. There some teams the red badge juniors knows more than the seniors and tech leads. It is not only the elt the problem anymore.

So ironic that this leader "not allow to hire?". Admittedly, I did not knew him nor did I had any familiarity of his records/background. He was given a large budget to operate and did not have results to show growth(actually shrinking) for 2 years. In an area that the market is continuously growing, this person has demonstrated nothing but failures. That alone should be what he was judged against his KPI. That is outside people looking at the current SBG leadership. Why is he still in charge? Connections? maybe

so weird how leaders don't decide to LR themselves. it'll just remain a mystery why.
