Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Can we target those to be let go?

Topping the list: not turning off your audible notification for Teams messages. Is the flashing box on your taskbar not enough to get your attention?

@2j8 Are the layoffs specific to Boston? Does anyone know why departments are being cut? I heard a lot of people are co being replaced by AI.

What departments are being targeted for layoffs?

I went in 4 days and I was let go; a guy in my group never came in with no AWA and still has a job. It’s all who you know.

@1dq that's the part that's obviously corrupted at State Street. The RTO policy was presented as a way to create fairness across the company. In reality, it felt more like a tool to push out employees certain leaders didn’t want.
My Boston-based team was “required” to go into the office four days a week because of our assigned persona. After my hiring manager left, a new leader took over and merged his existing staff with ours. He announced that everyone needed to follow the RTO policy.
Later, I found out that wasn’t true.
The mandate was enforced strictly on my team, while he and his original staff largely ignored it. It became clear that he preferred working only with people he personally selected (and kissed up to him), not the inherited team.
The irony? The people avoiding the office were often the ones most disengaged and frequently lost on their work, yet they were the ones given flexibility and we have to pick up their responsibilities.
So much for fairness. These are the type of leaders we have in the company. Nothing but corruption.

@yx they don’t decide who gets laid off. They basically just handle the paperwork and are supposed to help you find another position within the company once you are in that in between area..after being notified of your layoff and when you leave.

Also HR is basically where now? India. So if they have a say and your white chance of you being hired are not good.
