Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Department Names

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about ASAP, RMBC and ASIC.
Can someone please tell me what these departments are / what they stand for?
I genuinely do not know.
Thank you

RMBC Hudson band 2 position was eliminated. 60 day notice on a cold, heartless group call.

I am in the RMBC. I have not heard anyone let go yet. Please update this thread. I also have not received a meeting appointment. Not sure if this is good or bad.

ASAP also handles complaints and concerns from all of the Departments of Insurance across the country in addition to the BBB and Departments of Justice. Much more than simply agent concerns.

@yuv+17EJ6RE7 thank you! I forgot what ASIC stood for. I’m in the rmbc and have always been appreciative of you folks, always working with us.
I’m very sorry to hear about your department getting cut...
I think we could be next :(

ASIC stands for Allstate Service Information Center. A post below describes our role in detail. We service the agents

Basically all of these departments are or were used to assist agents whenever they’d call in. :)

I can help answer! Please forgive me as the acronyms for what specifically each stand for is escaping me.. I’m awake because I can’t sleep (5:30am eastern).

ASIC is the department agents called to speak to folks regarding billing concerns, endorsements, rules/rates on a policy, etc.

RMBC stands for risk management business center, this is the hub for underwriting for property and casualty lines. Agents would call in to speak to underwriters regarding if a risk is eligible at new business, reinstatement’s, renewals, and retention of existing policies.

Finally, ASAP is a department used to escalate or resolve customer concerns through an agent. Again not sure of the exact acronym.

I hope this helps!

I agree. This just reminds us how initiation heavy Allstate is. I’ve never heard of some of these areas but I’m right there with you guys with my fingers crossed, hoping for the best for me and my department.
