Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

No Bonus 2023

Hearing bonuses are done for this year for individual contributor. I am positive, Sarah and other C level folks will get millions for their amazing work of doing nothing. Amazing how world work, no matter how messed up they are, they will always make millions in salaries and bonuses.

This was a great company when Neidorf was in charge but since this new region took over its about us working for their contract so they get the bonus and we get the shaft so they make bonuses and we have to prove our 8 hour shift greedy management

Bravo! Every single redaction of our benefits, including the decreased medical benefits/increased premiums, and removal of the possibility of bonuses, is essentially a reduction of pay, without having to call it that. Would people be okay with their pay getting reduced? Then why are they ok with their benefits going down and their costs going up? I'm certainly not.

Since you want everyone to be honest....No there are people that do not deserve a bonus including SSA's, Team leads, supervisors, upper management and more importantly C-Suite. Do you deserve a bonus? If people are not meeting business needs - you let them go because they are dead weight. BUT no this company just keeps them on and fires the people performing or expects them to carry that weight while upper reap the rewards. Now your high performers don't want to perform. When you show your employees they are worth nothing to you then what do you expect to happen? When you give no incentive or reason to want to work for you what do you expect to happen? They didn't just take away 1 incentive - they took every single reason to want to work here - no feeling of security with constant threat of layoffs, no promotions, no raises, no decent COLA, no PFP, pulling tech reimbursement when it was their choice to make WFH perm for a lot of us and shut down a majority of their offices, and don't get me started on their imaginary "competitive wages" while they are offshoring our work. Spare me the "do they deserve" mantra. Every single reason that made me want to sign on with this company 7 years ago has been taken off the table in full force over the last 3 years. You are entitled to your opinion and whatever you deem as your own self worth but who are you to decide others worth? You're good with no bonus...cool. Your good with the "I am happy to have a job" ....also cool. But you don't get to decide how others should or shouldn't feel or what they do or do not deserve based on what you think is acceptable for yourself.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Does everyone really deserve a bonus? Some people have come to expect it as part of their salary and annual review cycle.

So many people I work with are just phoning it in half the time. Unresponsive. Never leaning in to take ownership. Yet they still think they deserve a bonus. They don’t.

They have even taken away the internet stipend! Can I ask what exactly is enticing me to do anything more than the absolute bare minimum until I can get out of here? I refuse to do overtime, I refuse to a single keystroke more than what it takes to keep my job. Period.

maybe for your team but my department specifically was told that only the quarterly bonus' went away but we would get PFP for the year accumulated moving forward and there will no longer be a Quality bonus either... so............

Yesterday someone on my team asked about the yearly bonus. The answer from management was that they haven't heard anything. We were told that when they pulled the quarterly bonus off the table last year they said it would become a yearly bonus for us lowly workers. I can only assume by management's response is that they they are still getting theirs based off our work but that we will not be seeing a bonus. For management to say they haven't heard is a crock - they have to submit our production/performance reviews to be considered for the bonus. Don't hold your breath people.

Only Salary M and higher receive bonuses. Explains the increase of favorites being promoted to a higher salary grade.

Enhance our skills? Ha ha Tell that to the PL who can’t read or write. The cost of living has a lot of people living paycheck to paycheck if you aren’t making at least 100,000 a year. So you are saying they can make that plus bonuses? They are delegaters at best. Kindly read your latest ads for renting an apartment in any city/state btw. Then come back and tell people on this post to be happy lol.

Well let's hear it for the bend over and grab your ankles crew!! I don't know what to say to people like you that paste this garbage response anymore. Think about what you are contributing to your work????????? Did you miss the part where no matter what you "contribute" this company has systematically removed all incentives to contribute to the work over the last several years? And what exactly should they be doing to keep their job? I mean since it would seem everything they have been doing is never enough and just leads to ultimately being fired so please enlighten us. The only thing I agree with is that we cannot bring money with us when we die but the idea that I or anyone else should be homeless, starving or miserable on the journey to the grave is just pathetic.

In life, there are many who are rich even though they don't deserve to be rich. There are many who are poor that dream about being rich. Forget about what others did or didn't do. Just think about yourself, and your family. Think about what you are contributing to your work and yourself to enhance your skills. Thinking about others from work will only bring unnecessary stress causing health issues. The best thing to do is remain positive and focused on what you need to do to keep your job and your goals in life. This is one way to keep your mind at peace and yourself happy. Remember, you can't bring money with you when you die. So enjoy the life with what you have. Money is not happiness nor does it have anything to do with happiness.
