RTO Tracking

Do you think they track us going to the office or not? What do you guys think/do?

Depends on your line manager. My career progression was threatened when I wasn’t going in. A lateral team was fully remote without issues.

Nothing has been officially sent out. Toxic mind games going on here, naturally they verbally passed down this news after OHS closed

@14g I applied to a role in the zone I had when I was 5 days in the office and they wouldn't even consider me (it was a lateral role) because they didn't want issues with payroll. Now we have MCC/ICC handling payroll, managers having to check timecards and now they have all sorts of payroll issues. And the job I applied to, they are on their 3rd BZA-they can't keep anyone in that role.
Now I sit at home waiting for my package. 42 weeks of pay, I will take it.

@149 "Back in 2023". That was not enforced at all and your here 3 years later saying it's 4-5 now.

It has been communicated that if you are remote you’re essentially labeled “do not promote” in the system. I don’t see ANY Plano remote roles besides occasional sales roles that require heavy travel. If you’re remote and ever want a new internal job, might want to find a plan B

Unless your position is labeled as Remote, RTO 3-4 times a week was reinstated back in 2023. And the fact you're even asking tells a lot. Yes, they check.

@12p payroll is fully remote. I have 6 zones. I can't imagine being forced to go back in the local office

@101 Remote work is a thing of the past. Every single employee has to return to the office 4-5 days a week. It’s a done deal. They’ll keep pushing us until we give up or they force us to.

If you have a work phone, they can track your location. Just like sales reps are required to stay within a geofence, you will be expected to do the same. Trust me, managers will be alerted if you remain outside the fence for an extended period.

@y7 What about roles that were always remote before Covid?

I’ve been told by some pretty reliable people that badge entries are tracked and that they are gearing up to have us all come inn4-5 days a week again. It’s already started in some departments.

RTO while mass offshoring and near shoring going on is crazy, let them fire you. If you are being tracked on RTO, you are already in a target group facing layoffs.

Yes. They track you. A weekly report is generated and distributed to department heads.
