Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Failure by senior managements at SF

SF posted on its intranet the following about contracting with HCLTech.

"One of HCLTech's core focus is infrastructure and technical support, which enables efficiencies and service improvements that would otherwise be difficult to achieve with our current model." With this statement, senior managements at SF admit that they are incompetent. Should they be held accountable for not knowing how to achieve effective services?

"We have talented teams currently performing this work and our success in this effort hinges on carrying forward their skills and knowledge to HCLTech." With this statement, senior managements recognize that they fail to utilize the talented staffs to best benefit the company.

The two above statement clearly indicate senior managements at SF are incompetent. They do not know how to do their jobs. They all should be the first people to get layoff.

Are you referring to the leadership nepotism where every State Farm leader has never lived outside McClean County? Working for a company for 20+ years and then being told I was sold out and have a week to accept or I get nothing is "Like a Good Neighbor" that craps in your lawn and then sets your house on fire...

The failure rests clearly with incompetent employees. Leadership provided the vision and unlimited financial support. Employees could not deliver. Thank goodness the Company is charting a new direction. Everyone outside of ET has suffered enough.

@xyt+1kIBKUwZ...I am curious as to exactly which Superpower allows you to determine someone has 'no real skill' ? SF folks beware.....seems there is someone out there who can assess your individuals worth......:-)

@mhd+1kIBKUwZ, it seems you are the one who has no real skill. Even SF managements recognized "We have talented teams..." Judging by your comment, you seems to be jealous of IT folks for their skills and talents that you could never develop in your life time. Goals are set and measured by leaderships. If the goals are not achieved then it's clearly the managements' failure. That is what the original of this post about. Your turn will be next as SF does not stop at ET/IT. Who would want to see an a$$ho-e like you on LinkedIn??? Would you dare to post your comment on LinkedIn to see what kind of response you may get and how fast people will disconnect from you?

@ joq+1kIBKUwZ, I love watching people like you squirm. So Law is not allowed to go socialize because A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DEPT is rebadging people? Lolololol! Your weird sharing of the Artful Design pics is just that, really super weird. We’ll be better off when the weirdos like you are let go from SF b

All of you deadwood box checkers have run out of time soaking freebies at the trough. Time to realize those stretch goals and maybe get a job where results are measured, or if you don’t have any real skills you can do as the famous SF Vice preznint said and “get yo learning on”.
Peace out and see you on LinkedIn

In the spirit of "Let Them Eat Cake" go check out the facebook page for Artful Designs in Bloomington. It is a pottery painting place. There you will find pictures of the "leaders" from the law department laughing and enjoying this past Saturday afternoon, snacking on tacos and food catered and paid for by State Farm, drinking some adult beverages and all while thousands of ET employees can't sleep and worry about whether they will be able to afford rent and groceries next month. Great leaders indeed! Glad State Farm could pay to give them a treat while all of this is going on.

@bmy+1kIBKUwZ, what planet did you join SF from? Are you on meds? Most of senior management at SF are d-mb and have no clue what they need to do. Obviously you can never be in leadership role when you believe the failure is not due to leadership. Put the blame on the employees instead of admitting the issue is due to lacks of leaderships.

What are you talking about? Management has done a wonderful job taking a uniquely cultured industry leader and making it an indiscernible middle pack follower in the industry.

Now we are just like the rest!

@bmy Is leadership not in charge of seeing to it employees get the job done? If they cannot get the employees to do the job doesn't it show a failure on leaderships part? That's the problem. Leadership fails to be accountable for their inability to lead. They can do all the preaching they want but can't do the job they created themselves; then, whine how incompetent the worker is. So what do they do? Rake in the big bucks on the backs of outsourcing. The worker will be pressed to the brink and eventually revolt. The worker is not as d-mb as managers think.
