What they broke

They decided everything about the old way was bad. So they changed it all. Constant layoffs now. A reorganization that failed completely. Revenue keeps dropping. All they focus on is cutting costs. Ethics failures keep happening. Promotions go to the wrong people. The environment is toxic. Fear and distrust are everywhere. Leadership never tells us anything useful. If you hated what Ford used to be, you'll love what it's become. The rest of us are just watching it fall apart.

100% agree with this. Look IT and gdia Indians just promoting from within and finding ways to replace American workers with more Indians. I don't know why this doesn't get called out. My ll5 hired an Indian ll6 and since he was hired he only hired other Indians and I helped interview both Indian and American candidates but he only prefers to hire Indians.

@xy+1kpn4nsqf Doubt you really work at Ford, at least not in Michigan. The majority ethnic group at Ford is Indian (dot not feather). You are hard pressed to find white, Asian, Hispanic or blacks in the office. If there is an Indian supervisor almost a guarantee there are only Indian SGs in the group. And nearly all the Indians were not born in the USA. There are a few pockets where you will find more diverse teams but only if there is a white, black, Hispanic or Asian supervisor. If there is an Indian LL5 then pretty much guaranteed all the LL6s will be Indian.

The pattern you will see if you watch closely is Indians will push out all non-Indians from their group. As soon as an Indian is promoted you will see the other ethnicities in the group interviewing for lateral transfers due to mistreatment. Thus the clumping effect where you see pretty much no diversity within groups at Ford. There are also some older generation whites who exclude genders and races from their teams, but most of those are aging out of the workforce.

Point is your post is way off point, unless you are in CA.

Monarch, Conway, Jupiter were all massive failures. Majority of employees are not qualified for their job and have no idea how to even do their job. We have processes that no one follows because they don't have the competence to do so. The incompetent are using the LLM for everything which is driving further issues because it is spitting out incorrect information yet they have no clue because they lack experience.

Apparently DEI here is what’s been advertised on Faux News: hiring based on demographic. That is NOT what it is. It’s literally allowing people the chance to INTERVIEW

I emplore you to educate yourselves on what it really means and stop the white guy circlej--kThis company is heading downhill because 99% of the time, there is no diversity at the table. It is indeed full of cronyism and the diversity is only at the level that builds the vehicles or coming on visas. I only had two black females in my division and zero black males, when 30% of stem graduates were non Asian and of color. Do you see 1 in 3 PoC ? Nope.

The company is worked by a certain demographic, and that demographic survives layoffs, makes and designs the sub par, ugly vehicles and contributes to the toxicity. They’re also marketed to. Berber carpet.

@t1 Also, I have black friends that are probably whiter acting than me, came from the same schools, and same economic conditions or better somehow they quality for "DEI" treatment? (even they say it's ridiculous)

@np My honest feelings on DEI is that ultimately it does a disservice to the minorities that are supposed to benefit. Telling people "you need a leg up" well I got news, some of the minorities I've worked for have been my best bosses, some have been absolutely terrible. I'm conservative politically and white, and other whites often feel very comfortable speaking to me about "why that person got promoted", sometimes they're probably right, other times not. BTW I've never heard of a white boss that's against having minorities working for them or would treat them any different (from what I can see). But I have heard from a black LL1/2 "I will not hire a white person for that position" (LL1/2 at the time). That's just wrong. I also worry about the impact this is having on minority children too, what is society essentially telling them when people who promote DEI "we'll give you a leg up, because thats what's needed"? DEI doesn't fix the issue that socioeconomic conditions create disparity (or maybe it does down the line, but at a high cost). The world has gone bonkers. Also, as someone else posted on here, diverse groups are less efficient (sorry but that's a fact and well studied) - which seems to go in the face of what the executives are looking for, not that racial diversity automatically creates diversity... More double speak from management.

Ford was one of the leaders in DEI in the 90’s. Still up there. All the good talent left for lack of promotions and are now high up at suppliers.

They broke my trust in humanity, I know that much. Sleazey people, zero integrity, they play a year long game of smear the qu--r and they still look at you like you’re the a--hole. I must have been going through something - yes, it’s called abuse. That’s the kind of people you have here at Ford.

@b5 fartley would tell you this is on purpose, as it’s the only way you can compete in such a dynamic market. What he’s neglecting to tell people is without focus you deliver nothing of value. I think this guy breaks wind in the board room and everyone forgets to ask any important questions.
