Total rumor: someone leaked information from an executive brainstorming session where the selling off of old technologies was discussed. Fusion apps, the whole telco stack, all the old financial apps, surrendering the cloud war and focusing on database only. Running Oracle cloud on other cloud providers.
Who would buy the old stuff? Business partners who would basically buy the support revenue stream. The kicker was the hyper aggressive timeline to "right size" Oracle. Other option was do nothing and milk the support stream from existing customers. Apparently there is a software life cycle problem, and stuff is being retired by customers at an accelerated pace.
This is all rumor and no names were given for any sort of verification. Any one else hear about the acceleration in the "melt away" products?
Apparently the employees on these projects are picked to be transferred to another company or given packages.
