The fact everyone uses the lawsuits as a reason for layoffs or worse is baffling. All major insurance companies have lawsuits against them ALL THE TIME..
Drew Asher, David Thomas, Ken Fasola, & Sarah London are all responsible for the lawsuits and the inept management of them. Drew ran the PBM that has been found culpable. Dave and Ken are slimy incompetents, and Sarah is a Nepobaby poet who cares not for the members, especially the poor or Centene at all, along with being unqualified for any corporate role except, perhaps the lowest level project manager!!
Don't worry -- the Feds are coming too -- hopefully with a massive fine, jail time for these reprobates and perhaps even to shut parts or all of the company down --- good riddance!!
Ohiocapitaljournal.com has a good article that can get you up to speed.
To me it sounds like standard procedure for states to sue insurance companies, it's a win win. The state sues for $25M and the insurance company makes $25B, good times.
Quite the contrary most of us do know exactly what kind of revenue they bring in and that it's just a slap on the wrist for them to pay $30mil in a suit. Most of us also know that at the end of the day they will pay that and any other lawsuit while offsetting it with whatever $$ they think they can save by cutting as much overhead as they can as long as it's not their own. But every dog has its day and Centene is only speeding theirs up.
- we’ve known more layoffs were coming
- I think a lot of you truly underestimate how much money companies like Centene have and make in revenue every year. $30M is NOTHING. It’s a hand slap.
They also have another 8 states besides CA and SC that are bringing lawsuits against them for Medicaid fraud. If anyone still thinks that layoffs are not on the horizon they are daft.
Who told you another layoff isn’t coming? It’s my understanding (based on someone who has it in good authority) that there are most definitely another round or two coming soon.
