Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Bank will get worse. Leave

Bank is trying to fix things by following ECIO and trying Agile. However, they’re running lean and have existing teams enact Agile without training or hiring Agile folks.

They’re also becoming less flexible, with BSB a complete nightmare to be in, yet requiring folks to come in at set times to “collaborate” and be on Zoom calls all day. What the heck does “collaborate” mean - that is what they won’t define.

I saw ur--e in BSB this week, left to work in F building, then got called out by manager for not sitting in BSB to “collaborate”. So much for standards.

Lots of two-faced senior leadership, who were once early adopters of RTO telling employees to get over it and come in for 8 hours a day.

There are no new projects, just maintenance of older projects.

Predicting more attrition and an even worse scorecard this year. Bank is unwilling to innovate and use normal industry tech.

The bank goal this year is all about profitability so I would expect lots of layoffs. It is so poorly run and don’t see how it will ever achieve that goal under current leadership.

I have to agree with you here. Most agile folks at USAA that I have had to work with couldn't identify a line of code if their lives depended on it. These people are the ones that are ki-ling USAA's culture and need to be laid off. Especially the permanent remote Agile folks who force the rest of us to live on Zoom all day.

Lol hiring for agile? you mean pointless "sprint" meetings that bogs down the duration of a project?
