I was hired as a fully remote engineer 2 years ago.
There is no campus nearby.
There's been rumors that fully remote will be the next to go.
I need the money.
Anyone have any insights of what's coming down the line for fully remote engineers.

@x6 BS post. Too many inaccuracies. Try again troll.
I was a fully remote engineer. I found another job before the layoffs started happening. I’m still fully remote, and I doubled my income. I left before severance was offered and I cashed out 8 and 4 week sabbaticals. I don’t regret it at all. I would never have been laid off, I just didn’t want to be part of the toxic work culture anymore. Even the posts on this site reflect the general attitude, it just su-ks. People will try to pile on me for whatever reason, but I won’t know because I’ll never look at this post again. I hop on here to see if the rot is still there, which it is and idk this site is a bit like a train wreck in that I have to look from time to time. I did want to say leaving your job can be a bit scary, but if remote work is a must have for you then culturally you won’t be a good fit there anymore even if you do like your job and things there are going to get worse. Unfortunately it seems like the people who really band together there are also the ones who thrive and feed on negativity. Remote work is the way of the future. Even if you fly people in a few times a year to get together it’s still cheaper than having everyone arbitrarily go to an office and get sick. The leadership is limited in terms of thinking and they are steering the titanic that is Intel right into the iceberg. Put all of your available resources into finding a remote opportunity, you’ll thank yourself. Even if you make a little less, you’ll be happier because you will be working with people that have a similar mindset.
When you signed on, was it in your onboarding documents that stipulated fully remote work? If it does, sue. If not, sorry.
You will be given choice to relocate to a hub or if not, they consider you as resigned. Or they make an exception for you and you will never be eligible for promotion.
Don’t come to Portland too many ex-Intel in our encampment
And yet I keep noticing new hires, mostly in IT orgs, who are full remote.
I hear there are many openings in the agriculture industry in California. Outdoors work.
There’s also TSMC and Samsung.
In our org we have until December to RTO without relocation, or lose the job.
I don't believe OP is an engineer.
I don’t believe that you don’t believe that OP is an engineer.
Lol move or find a different job in ur area.
Stupid to think this would last forever. The lot of ya!
Fully remote engineers will avoid getting diabetes from the free soda

Fully remote will be axed
I did ask my manager and he says that I'm listed as fully remote. He told me that he doesn't know how it will play out in the future for fully remote, as there's more cuts coming.
He's only a manager by title and I don't think he wants to be a manager. He was forced into a manager position when his upper management retired.
Either RTO or you need a specific exemption from your manager. If you haven’t asked this question to your manager by now you are an extremely irresponsible employee. Probably shouldn’t be working here.
