They can notice their lips on my caboose as I skip out the door. That's about the only notice their entitled to!

@zy My reasons are perfectly valid to rational people. To disgruntled losers, they aren't.

Sell your soul to the devil while you’re at it. Get a few lousy pieces of silver for worries about your damn dividend.

This stock is nothing but wallpaper.
Go redecorate your bedroom, make use of something that is truly worthless.

Notice? I notice the Dividend is tragically smaller now... I hereby give notice that the Dividend must be increased! Sell more Chinese printers or give your pass card to the Divvy!

No one has a valid reason for staying here. A paycheck for now is poor excuse.
You will be sunk pretty damn soon.

You all should have left long ago. Today is not the day to start thinking about it.
Krakatoa has erupted. The molten lava hasn’t rolled down hill yet. But at 90 mph, somehow I don’t think you will be able to get out of the way. It’s on its way and there is no stopping it.

Why would you keep believing the garbage that management (or what left of it) feeds you? Seriously, are you that easily fooled? Just fricking leave now…

@OP I left at 58 with 32 years in 2017. Interest rate were very low which pumped up my RIGP lump sum to about 400k. My 401k was around 500k. Rolled them both. I had 32 weeks salary and medical continuance. One of the last VRIF's with it
My bride left during the pandemic on 2021. @58 with 32 years. Again, interest rates were near zero. Her RIGP lump was also around 400k and her 401 about 400k. She gave 1 day notice. We saw the writing on the wall they were on a down trajectory on fully funding the retirement accountant funding. The meltdown. If you are still there, you missed the last shuttle out of Chernobyl. Failure to plan is planning to fail. Remember that?

@wb you can use up all of your yearly vacation and then give notice? They won’t take it out of your last pay?

It's a small world. If you give no notice it's likely somebody you worked with at Xerox knows people in companies you night want to work at and the no notice thing could bite you in the a-s.

It's always best to be professional even if when it's clear Xerox will not be loyal and give you notice.

Why leave? Sit and take the easy money like me.

You should give them at least 5 minutes as a professional courtesy.

Always someone who won’t listen and knows better. That’s why the company is going up in flames. But I digress …

Get out now. Whatever it takes. Don’t look back. Crash and burn management doesn’t work well in the long term.

Left last fall. Gave 2 weeks and xerox was lucky to get that. All my friends got NO notice when they got laid off so i figured i was going above and beyond. Xerox doesn’t care about you or your family so why should you?

When I left Xerox, I gave 20 minutes notice, just so they could know all my stuff was at the drop location. Took a photo of everything there. Called my manager, he would not pick up. Found out he was on vacation. Called my old service manager who by then was demoted back down to a tech. Let him know. Left an email for my manager who never responded. (Personal email)
Called every tech I worked with a let them know. As of 7 months later (through a friend from another area) 5 out of 11 techs left already. As of one year 2 more left. Another tech called me and was actively looking to leave.

Great place to work. If I had it to do over again I would do it the exact same way.

They don’t deserve anything, except their property returned. Period.

Best day of my career. Got another job with a friend and I am way happier now.

Get the H e l l Outta xerox now!!!!

@ar the privacy laws in Canada would eat them up if they shared any information other than “did they work there”…

When Xerox furloughed a bunch of people in the spring of 2020, they gave no notice. When Xerox fired those same people in the fall of 2020, they gave no notice. When Xerox fired 20% of the company on Feb 29, they gave no notice...

Xerox deserves no notice.

Take a 2 week vacation, give your notice at 4:59pm on the Friday before your vacation.

Who do you think at Xerox they will call for a reference that will actually know anything about you? They have no clue who you are, what you do, how you leave.

Does Xerox recognize Core years prior to GIS purchase?

Two weeks is best for your manager, unless you do not care. Some techs have left thier car in a X parking lot with parts, laptop and keys. Emailing the manager where to pick it up...brutal.

Technically Xerox can NOT give out any information short of how many years you have been there, your current job title, and your ending salary. A manager or HR person who gives out more than that can be terminated. Alls it takes is a former employee saying " I would have gotten the job if my manager/HR wouldn't have said anything and goes for good or bad things alike!

I had a manager many years ago that said something about an ex-employee that actually was a compliment at the time that was used against the employee which of course got back to the manager and HR and he was terminated that following day.

I guess if someone said "off the record" I can give you a reference it might be ok but they do that knowing if things go south their job is gone.

Just elimnates liabilities/law suits....

I wouldn’t just walk out the door unless you’re brand new or you really hate the people you work with day to day cause that’s who you’re sc--wing over. I’d give at least a two week notice and resign professionally. At this place your manager likely knows why you’re leaving already and can’t blame you. He-l they might be getting out themselves soon.

If your manager has a ounce of humanity they will provide a reference. I always do.

None. Don't give any notice. Loyalty is a thing of the past. They won't hesitate to escort you out the door without notice. Turn in your badge/laptop/whatever, and walk away.
