Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Pot Stirrers??

I've seen several recent posts where layoffs are mentioned and when other people ask what department, state, plan, etc... silence.

Does this mean there really aren't any layoffs happening and people are just trying to stirr sh* up? Why won't anyone answer? You were already let go, what more can they do if you give details?

You also weren't the only one let go so they can't prove who actually posted from the bunch they let go so why not let others know unless it's just bull?

What line of business for the Grievance Department?

Thanks for the the clarity on grievance.

The way this company is structured is confusing when we start talking about layoffs because it could be claims for health and claims for the pharmacy claims for vision claims for dental. They are right that a heads up won't really save you but at least give you some clues to look out.

I can confirm the grievance department laid off 3 people. Including the manager.

FYI -- This is a sample notice that would be sent out on a Friday EOD. They do this so people with elevated privileges' do not have time to take negative action. This is just a sample. I have no knowledge of forthcoming layoffs.

We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen financial constraints, we must implement immediate workforce reductions. This decision, while difficult, is necessary to ensure the company's long-term viability.

Effective immediately, your position in the administrative accounts department has been eliminated. Your last day of employment is today.

You will receive your final paycheck, including compensation for any accrued leave, within the next pay cycle. Additionally, we are offering severance packages to assist during this transition, details of which will be provided by HR.

We understand the sudden nature of this news is distressing and apologize for the abrupt notice. HR is available to support you, answer questions, and provide resources for job placement services.

Thank you for your service and contributions to the company. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

No one owes anyone an explanation of THEIR employment. Honestly, it won't help to project your time.

If you have to worry that much just leave.

True, It’s not bad mouthing. There are tons of MCOs with layoffs on this website happening right now, some even announced on news stations. That may be why people are asking the state layoffs are occurring due to MA and Medicaid taking hits at all MCOs and its not a secret. It’s public knowledge when a state is affected because members have to be notified to choose a new plan. You don’t need a Warn notice read what is happening in other plans hospitals and clinics across multiple states. Ripple effects just google

Stating facts is not "bad mouthing" - bad mouthing is saying things that are untrue and painting someone/something in a bad light causing damage to their reputation, etc. Centene has already managed to do that to themselves all by their lonesome - need aide needed. If you choose to sign something thats on you. Saying what department was effected or the reasons you were given for the lay off to offer some heads up to your fellow worker is NOT bad mouthing. Sorry but y'all need to stop acting like this company that just told you to F off is your keeper.

People can’t talk about details because of the severance. Management won’t make an announcement. Just pieces get posted publicly

There are layoffs (everyone I know impacted was notified August 1st) across the enterprise, affecting departments including finance, network development, and provider relations, among others. No department is exempt from what I’ve heard, and additional layoff notifications are expected later this year.

Yes there are layoffs. As mentioned many times on this site, there is no mass wave. It’s targeted pockets, a slow draw down. Nobody should assume they are safe before or after a particular date.

Ill say this...

There were only two people in my area when I was laid off. It would have been pretty easy to verify me or the other person had I said where. And seeing that I signed something saying that I wouldn't bad mouth them...
