How much do staff vps earn on average?

Most make $500-$600K/year fully loaded (salary, bonus, stock)
$350K a year to sit in Teams meets all day?
Depends on how long have been working here … I would say base pay is between 250-350 , cask bonus of 25%-30% and there were years where they gave stock bonus upwards of 200- 300K in long term investments
Our staff vp is pretty good as well. They just have way too much on their plate and they had to get creative with delegating and management. Too many RIFs, resource starvation and skeleton staffs. Same old bullsh-t.
I am the previous poster who posted about my amazing Staff VP. I’ve reported to staff VPs before and can differentiate the good from the bad ( or worst). I’ve worked under some who took no initiative, had huge egos and basically did nothing but bark down the chain of command. But some of them really put in the work, are in the trenches with us & deserve their pay. mine is one. The long meeting was to get all the information compiled and prioritized for our team to be successful. Well worth our time. All I’m saying is there are good ones out there. Don’t generalize.

How do you know the poster is entitled? Do you think a staff VP is pretending to be someone else and defending themselves? If not the person posting is just delusional, has been drinking the Kool aid for too long. I know - I used drink the Kool aid and buy in to all the talk about the importance of good leadership, etc. I still think good leadership is important I just realized it isn't actually prioritizes here at ELV

4hr long meeting tells you everything you need to know.
My Staff VP deserves every bit of the pay she gets. She is compassionate, has literally worked her way up and knows the business in and out. She held a 4 hr long meeting without blinking an eye. I love her and am glad she’s at the helm.
Have you thought of going to the job board and looking it up yourself instead of posting this on a layoff website.
You need us SVP’s to make sure people do their jobs here. Too much complaining and slacking…love my 300K salary!

I work in finance. It depends on the area worked. Personally, I haven't seen a Staff VP salary lower than $200k in my years here seeing over thousands of salaries. Our Sr financial consultants/financial consultant managers/fp&a directors can make $100k+ and those positions are individual contributors.
Does anyone remember the WAVE years? An original plan for building out DBG (eventually became a pillar of Carelon) plan in there and it listed expected salaries for Staff VPs. Most were in the $400k range and this was in 2018. This was for M18 Staff VP roles (so the Staff VPs that also had Staff VPs reporting to them).
I’ve seen M16/M17 Staff VPs at varying ranges although my data is more anecdotal here (what people told me or what was on internal job postings). Typically $190-280k base salary. But remember there’s a 25% bonus and a very large stock option package.

In 2021 through 2024 the bonuses and stock awards were super high - easily 6 figures for M15. Fat times. Going forward - with the stock down and losing accounts the bonuses and stock won't be as high. Except for that inner circle where the compensation is super high regardless of what f@#$&ups are going on.
I think the staff vp salaries are justified. they have to deal with vp’s who are more clueless than them 99% of the time.
@tgs MRP is not total compensation. The MRP is only the position salary midpoint. To get to the posted total compensation package on Glassdoor, the bonuses and company stock awarded to the Staff VP has to be included in addition to the Staff VP's salary.
people dont realize how much some leaders make. dont be surpised if your boss makes more than double what you do. as only a manager last year between salary, bonus and stock grants, I was close to 200k.
@wyn It sounds high because it is high. It is ridiculously high for what a Staff VP does.... Stats are based on what the positions self-report on the site. Total compensation includes their bonuses and company stock. I bet it is not that far off.....
that info on glass door is high. go look at the career opportunities site. there are a few staff vp opens. it lists the range and MRP

Ridiculous. Eliminating half of these people would save so many other positions. People who actually do work. WTF does a Staff VP even do except convolute everything to justify their existence?
