Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Bones to the old guard

I just listened to the playback.

Managers, Snr Analyst, Analysts

Those are the 3 roles marked for a pay review. I don’t believe it’s ALL roles, otherwise why mention just those three. The review will be done by your manager in October and November. And pay rise will be effective on 1 December 24.

Then Mary waffled on and said next year it’ll be October rises / review and it will be more structured.

That’s pretty much senior staff roles. They must have concluded somehow that group was the problem group, or least paid group from market avg baseline.

Raul said from 10k managers in DXC, only 5k attended his call and he wasn’t happy. Expect those 5k to be reminded.

@wpn+1uEZBRWV I have observed that people managers have not been actively managing teams recently. Similarly, many project managers seem to lack a clear understanding of project details, with a few exceptions. In many cases, project managers seem to focus primarily on reformatting reports to meet client preferences and navigating internal administrative processes.

The technical staff, who possess the critical knowledge required to keep systems functioning and resolve issues, are the ones shouldering much of the actual work. A significant concern for DXC is that these employees, who have received minimal salary increases over the past decade (typically no more than 2%), are becoming increasingly disengaged, with many already having mentally checked out.

A realignment to market rate and levelling across teams is what's probably required. But all that costs money that the company claims it doesn't possess.

Who does and doesn't deserve a pay rise. It shouldn't be down to if your manager likes you!

It wasn't just India, happened in the UK also. Part of their alignment of hp and CSC job grades. Doesn't make any sense.

Don’t forget DXC India made all job level 5 and above a manager. It was really d-mb, and an attempt to give employees a higher title without the pay. So manager doesn’t really mean much in DXC anymore.

I wouldn’t describe those grades as senior at all. Rather junior at the Analyst level in fact.

What about storage and backup technicians, storage and backup solutions architecture, Platform teams that support our customers every day and night ?

Everyone that meets and exceeds some should get a pay increase!

The board and executives keep losing money and they keep getting stock options, travel , bonuses and a super high salary.

Duck DXC , I turned in my 1 day notice. I am done with this 💩 🕳️

"Remember "managers" now includes people who were senior professional before" - good point I'd forgotten that!!! I'll have to check workday as no clue what my job title is now. It's irrelevant as I've been doing the same job on the same project for 11 years....

Only half turned up to Raul's meeting. Ah bless him. 80% of those just joined the call and then went and did something more useful - like watch some paint dry.

Oh and my first thought on Raul's comment about no shows was that it probably was one call at a time that nobody is working. He might want to consider that.

Remember "managers" now includes people who were senior professional before and despite having the word "manager" in their grade don't have anyone or anything to manage...

That's what I fear to, but she was deliberately vague. Developers that haven't had a raise in 10 years don't count obviously.
