Several people I know keep saying they'd be "so, soooo happy" if they were laid off. If that's actually true, how come none of them quit? Nobody is holding them here against their will. Why do I keep hearing "oh, I am not worried, I want to be laid off" when we all know it couldn't be further from the truth?

@ 3gvd ….. > 500 ex ISAT folks shout “Amen”.
A big payday came early for many former ISAT who are lucky not to work on USA. This really helps folks get over the disastrous acquisition and the “VSAT experience”.

I got a nice check to help ease my way into retirement. It was a couple years early, but the money is on ice. I would rather have left with a hand shake and mutual respect, but I'm over it.
Really stupid OP
Because I won't get severance if I quit. It is better to 'silent quit'
@lof - good to hear from J@son Sm@th. Welcome to this space friend.
If they quit then they can't collect unemployment compensation. But if they get laid off then they can collect unemployment compensation. I'd stay strong and hang in there until I'm laid off, to collect unemployment compensation.
