Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Look at all the "awards and Meetings" retracting from results

Notice how after a layoff, the Lumen higher ups like to post about the "wonderful awards" they seem to garner from this group or that group, and directors like to post about "brain storming" sessions with subordinates that they are working on things like AI and NAAS, but not addressing the real elephant in the room regarding declining revenues on the services that are still paying the bills? "look at this shiny thing over her, while we run Lumen into the ground" Kate and Kye are truly lost, it's no wonder why they jump from company to company, and bring all their friends with them.

Reselling has already been tried. There’s no money in it. If there was they’d still be offering service from Verizon. This company is full of bad decisions going back 30 years that can’t be fixed now. Kate and her crew are blowing it out and starting over. Which in 30 years looks like it’ll just be another bad decisions

@yp one word $$$$$$$$. They can resell like xfinity.
But just wait until the company folds and the higher ups admit all the mistakes they made.
You really think the enterprise side will sustain the company long term?
As long as ceo and slt make their money that is all that matters.

Get back into wireless? This company hasnt been in the wireless business in over 25 years. What does that have to do with fixed wire utilities anyway? This company wants to sell the access not the wire.

@yb “ Many feel as though they need to get back into wireless. That is where AT&T and Verizon are making their money.” Not sure who that “many” would be, AT&T & VZ ARE cell phone companies. Lumen is betting the house on becoming “the backbone for AI”. Time will tell if they win or lose that bet.

@wy You missed it when the company admitted they made a mistake in selling off CenturyTel as they lost that constant revenue stream.
Many feel as though they need to get back into wireless. That is where AT&T and Verizon are making their money. Even xfinity is reselling mobile service with their internet.
There is no guarantee that the enterprise services will keep the company afloat.

She’s doing what she’s been hired and directed to do. The plan all along was get out of the utility business. Not saying that’s a good thing especially for everyone who’s spent their careers repairing, selling and installing service along with all the jobs that go along with it. The writing is on the wall as I can see my 31 years here coming to an end but the reality is the money is no longer in the fixed wire business. Not for shareholders which is really all the board of directors and the suits at the top care about.

@st hope?!? No hope.
The ones who leave might be the lucky ones.
Remember ceo has no phone company experience. The board specifically brought her in as a change leader. The thing is she doesn't know what she's doing.
In the past 30+ years there has only been one decent ceo.
Keep hanging on to your hope. It won't save your job.

@st lol .. sure lumen was in trouble before Kate, but her solution ( actually the board of directors). Is to parcel out and sell of 90% of the company along with jettisoning those employees related to those parts of the company..

So sure great deal for the select few who will remain but for the overwhelming majority of employees it on par with a bankruptcy..

Just before Kate came on board the company publicly committed its self to modernizing its infrastructure and mass markets… we now know that was complete LIE!!

I’d expect everything else, from here on out to be a complete lie as well.. lumen like its books may very well be COOKED!

Lumen was run into the ground long before Kate, Kai and others arrived. At least now we have hope and a direction with all that they are driving, do you think previous leadership would have been able to achieve even half of what they have? I have been here a long time and I can tell you the answer is a big NO. If you feel like this why are you here?

The elephant on the room that no one wants to talk about. Where are all the Brene Brown disciples going up to Kate and Kye, shedding their armor, and telling the top brass how things are really going behind the scenes, wasn't that the whole point of the training, transparency?
