Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Rebadging Questions

  1. Can we just refuse to agree to the transition to force the company to pay out severance? (Job loss is acceptable in this scenario)
  2. Does anyone who was rebadged last year with Kyndrel and others have a perspective to share beyond the company is evil and having a job is better than not?

“…rebadging allows large corporations to optimize costs, improve cash flow, and shift labor expenses from direct costs to service expenses, enhancing financial flexibility while maintaining operational stability.”

But what about employee rights and labor laws?

They are rebadging and will layoff in 2-3months, then elevance dont need to pay them severance. It is the plan to reduce cost.

The benefits organization under Government Business was moved to WiPro August 1 2024. We were not given a choice of taking severance. We either had to accept the new job offer with WiPro, or quit. It was a simple as that. Over 20 years of service to Elevance went up in smoke, and we were outsourced and given no option to stay.

Are there going to be more teams rebadged?

If we don’t accept then our last day of employment is 3/31 and it will be considered a “voluntary” leave of employment so they don’t have to pay out severance. @vz+1jm52fnw9

Which carrier provides health insurance benefits for Deloitte employees? Will it still be an Anthem benefit plan?

I'm sure there are no laws to protect the employees especially if your state has at will employment you either accept the offer or be let go with nothing. Im sure they made so they would have no legal liability.

We give up our rights when we sign the offer letter. Severance is not a guarantee, most companies offer severances for the opportunity to rehire in the future, but it’s a handshake. Rebadging is an opportunity to skip the payments, differ/offload layoffs with hope that the recipients will be sorted and discarded by a vendor. After the financials look better and bonuses paid, there will be a reassessment to see if some of the cattle can return to the herd. This is all about financial gain and appearances and nothing to do health.

I was caught up in the Deloitte rebadge Monday. We were told if we don’t accept the Deloitte offer, it would be considered a voluntary leave of employment and we would not be eligible for a severance.

If you refuse you don’t get severance I know someone whose department last year half got RIF’d and half were rebadged and if you chose not to get rebadged you were basically quitting so you get nothing
