Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Any updates on the Converse reorg and related layoffs?

Are the layoffs still expected to happen next week?

I don’t know how some people in marketing have jobs tbh. Nothing sticks and they wonder why the sales dropped. It’s like the Miley Cyrus collab all over again. Everyone wants to take credit. It did horrible and they point fingers and layoffs happen. Whole senior team from entertainment to brand needs to go.

It’s pretty obvious to me they are giving the company to A.I… All Indians. They found a way around H1B by building company offices in India.

It seems pretty obvious to me that all of technology is being moved over to Nike. Nothing else makes sense with how badly the tech department was mowed down on Monday.

I have to echo the toxic leadership being unharmed. Converse made some very poor elimination choices. Looking at who is left is so disappointing this is not an org I’m proud to be a part of anymore.

TPM roles were targeted, but the real issues remain untouched.
The deeper problem sits within ED&A leadership, where a lack of technical direction has led to poor decisions and costly practices.
Instead of addressing root causes, the focus was placed on visible roles.
Strong teams are now paying the price for leadership gaps that continue unchallenged.

The only thing I’ll give Nike Inc. the benefit of at this point is what a great bunch of people I was able to work with. I worked on both the Nike and Converse side and I was blown away by the amount of support I received unsolicited from people that survived the bloodbath and also former managers that have left the company.

I think the message is pretty clear at Converse. Get the books clean so it can be sold or absorbed. This isn’t shocking…you can’t lose $4M on the bottom line and expect nothing to happen.

For all those affected…take the Nike Inc. name on the resume and don’t look back. One common theme I’ve heard from everyone that has reached out is that this is a blessing that I can’t see yet.

Toxic leaders unharmed.
No promotions.
No communication from leadership.
Why would anyone work here?

They let go of the wrong people and kept the bad ones. It’s a very grim outlook for converse. All cowards.

if everyone was instructed to wfh, then layoffs are mon and tues and then wed-fri is reassignment to another role, or no change.....at least that was the pattern at whq last year....oh what fun that was

Other than the email AC sent, I haven’t heard anything. Seems like a lot of people next week will be laid off since everyone will be “working” from home. Doubt much work will be done if everyone is worried about being laid off
