Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Fired hours after going to HR!

What is going on with USAA?
I’ve read so far a few employees have been terminated days if not hours after reporting issues to HR!
According to one post, the OP stated HR told them that they “made a false claim” about manager harassment and fired her, just days after she reported her issue.

Another, was fired HOURS later after reporting a VP for comments and references he made to the employees.

HR is there to protect the company.

HR and Ethics complaints seem to get handed off to your boss's boss in most instances for resolution/research; the person that enables/creates the toxic environment in the first place is the one HR empowers to resolve...

Arbitration agreement isn’t new, they made us sign it in 2004-ish. I have a theory that when they need to reduce headcount, they pull the trigger on refreshing background checks, dr-g tests, and policy attestations.

I was wrongfully termed and would 100% sue USAA. I’ve already reached out to EEOC but unfortunately my interview isn’t for a two months. But USAA needs to be held accountable this is ridiculous.

Makes perfect now why they forced all employees to sign that arbitration agreement late last year.

FYI: If you choose to seek legal counsel, let the attorney know about the arbitration form, that way they can go a different route against USAA.

What USAA is doing is banking on that next to no one will seek legal guidance and go against them. They think the hourly employees aren’t smart enough to speak with a lawyer.

Also, USAA has been sued many times over wrongful termination and lost many times.

This isn’t right. So many people are getting fired for going to HR, the obvious retaliation is bold.

This is Wayne’s USAA my fellow employees. Report anything to HR and you’ll be unemployed within a few days.

Welp, my cubby was just terminated, she was on a verbal for sales, they called her into the office and let her go about 90 minutes ago. Our manager sends out our stats every Friday morning and she was making improvements, but because she challenged the verbal a few weeks back and went to HR then to the director, she was let go this morning. She was also a 7 year employee who did walking support for bank new hire classes.

It is NOT out of the blue. It's been going on for months! I was fired in June after an HR related incident in which I told my boss I was no longer comfortable with a situation.

100% accurate.

Not sure if it is HR that’s the issue or if all managers have an almighty ego

The real issue should be, why are employees now being retaliated on for reporting issues to HR.
I’m going on 16 years with the company, I’ve gone to HR only once, and I had my attorney on speaker while I was talking to the HR rep, that way I covered my basis incase of retaliation.

Why all the sudden attacks on HR? I am struggling to believe all this stuff is happening out of the blue. It seems so random.
