Corporate Narcissism

Just read this and it resonated with me and some of the managers I had at stx. According to Alan Downs, corporate narcissism occurs when a narcissist becomes the chief executive officer (CEO) or other leadership roles within the senior management team and gathers an adequate mix of codependents around him (or her) to support the narcissistic behavior. Narcissists profess company loyalty but are only really committed to their own agendas, thus organizational decisions are founded on the narcissist's own interests rather than the interests of the organization as a whole, the various stakeholders, or the society in which the organization operates.[8] As a result, "a certain kind of charismatic leader can run a financially successful company on thoroughly unhealthy principles for a time.

It has been all about managing the decline. The CEO, CIO and now the new board member from cisco who is known for cost cutting. They are not adding innovators or grow focused execs! Not a surprise

Yikes Pandemic Paranoia is setting in hard with some folks. Maybe try a few whiskey drinks to take the edge off.

Luczo knew he was a finance guy. Mosely doesn't know anything about innovation, but he thinks he does. He knows about operations and cost cutting.

The Board must be fine with him just managing the decline or they've totally bought into HAMR or both. Either HAMR works or you just keep incrementally adding capacity.

They can't buy another firm to get out of it anymore.

It's called Agenda 2030. If hard drives are failing, it's due to people who are more like those who are ignorant and too lazy to go research educate themselves on what is going in on in the world by simply looking on official published sites of real organizations or multiple other news sources.

Read the global citizenship and other materials on seagate.com and educate yourself. You think they don’t get a blueprint for that and created it all in house? It’s all there.

"You will own nothing and be happy". -WEC. Who do you think are members of the WEC? CEO's. They work together for their dream of you in total debt serfdom with no power at all and them with complete control of the world's capital. To what ends, who knows. Probably not good.

The CIO is much more narcissistic than the fake CTO puppet.

Did someone pull her 'business excellence" and CTOs medical file? The word Narcissistic has their photo in the dictionary.

Stx is on cruise control. The way it was run 20 years ago in middle management is the same today. The only difference now is the ceo, a product of the old middle management, is surrounded by yes people, mostly seagate lifers. Do you expect the company to lead or do anything differently from HDD?

Are you suggesting that SM is charismatic?

I’ve worked at a few companies over the years. I’ve never experienced ex-employees holding a grudge as the Seagate community does. I left Seagate over a year back, have a good job and am happy about my current job. and the Seagate experience. Wonder what it is that brings out this level of self
Destructive emotions. is it entitlement? Is it fear? Indolence ?

Sounds like the CEO who only knows HDD and every tech solution is HDD. And if you have a different answer to the solution you are gone so now is surrounded himself with loyalists.
