Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

There will always be a risk of layoffs and reductions

In case you have been living under a rock, and haven’t looked at the corporate bullsh-t going on all over the world. The unfortunate reality is that, there will always be risks of layoffs or reductions at not just Tmobile but basically any other organization as well.
Coming on this page to see if there will be layoffs is a slow form of torture.
You need to remain competitive just as much as our company must also. Empower yourself to learn and be more than you have ever been, and stop living a one lane highway kind of life. If you’re not wearing multiple hats, you’re also not marketing yourself as someone who can easily find something even better, if in fact you are laid off one day.
Take the energy most of you seem to have to come on here and always complain, and use it for something useful for your own life.. be better today and tomorrow than you have ever been in the past.

For those of you that thought or think this was a bot.. I have been working for the company for over 20 years and just simply know the state of the world and our own companies situation.. stop acting like bettering yourselves today won’t make a difference tomorrow.. someone on here posted how they were the highest performer at there job and yet were laid off.. people like that don’t have issues finding a new job since they are that valuable and hardworking as a individual.. so yeah it completely su-ks getting let go, and god bless us all for a continued good career here, although my initial post was to create the greatest sense of awareness of what we should all be doing today!

This sounds like some T-Mobile paid bot speech. T-Mobile doesn’t care about their people, they only care about their inner circle. Two options for those below! Build up a good case and perform a class action or pretend to be one of them and blend in. Either way, no one is safe!

Nobody can make YOU feel any kind of way. That's on you.

Everyone is at different stages, true - perhaps hear the PLANNING suggestion more than whining? As OP suggested sharpen your skills etc...in other words get a PLAN. That may include moving on. Denial, waiting, being reactive may not work the best. That's all I am saying.

An accomplishment? Proud of planning to not get got...by lying executives? You're darn right I am. Sprint did teach me that.

I was laid off last September after following the path for career growth that was promoted through T-Mobile: relocated twice in order to advance career, then took lateral moves, job swaps and stretch assignments to diversify my portfolio, plus a lot of company sponsored courses for career advancement. And the company made the business decision to lay me off when my results were the best in the nation. It took me a while to process all this, yet I understood it was part of a business strategy to reduce costs, not a performance related move.

@vod+1rknApLQ, good for you. But no need to make others feel guilty who are not "house paid off, kids out of college". Everyone is at different stages..some are just starting out.

This is typical sprint..always so proud of themselves and what they "accomplish" :)

Stay competitive OR define your exit plan. Shock and grief are real. I bet those most rattled are TMO employees...who were happy to think only Sprint employees would be impacted when merger was announced. The great head fake. Some comfortably waited, others PLANNED.

House paid off, kids out of college - I darn near turned a flip in June when I got laid off. Planned for it. Waited for it. Worked for me, everyone is different. I check back when friends still in the muck text me that another round awaits.

Starting a part time job at a landscaping company...for the summer. Peace

Citing what was said years ago isn't going to prevent what is happening now. That is a fact.

"This merger is all about creating new, high-quality, high-paying jobs, and the New T-Mobile will be jobs-positive from Day One and every day thereafter. That’s not just a promise. That’s not just a commitment. It’s a fact."
