Hi I would like to take about 3 days off. I am a FULL TIME ASSOCIATE and I do not want to use my pto . Can I pick unpaid time off ? My manager is telling me I have to put in PTO but I just was not sure if this is correct. Can someone please help me answer this . For some reason he wants me just to run out of pto Thank you everyone !

You guys are correct, however, if the manager is smart and they are short staffed, they will check to see if you have changed the PTO request. If you have, they can and will, within 24 hours of the shift starting, go in and put you back on the schedule. It is best to talk to your manager about unpaid time off, most will approve.
Looks like you have to take the points. Managers know about manipulating the computer for pto trick. Besides, it makes you look dishonest. Requests for unpaid time off is at the discretion of the manager. To keep everyone equal, managers usually do not, otherwise what's the reason for the pto / point system in the first place?
Here is what I’ve done. Requested time off, using pto and then go in and cancel the day before. I’m still scheduled off, but doesn’t use my pto. And frankly it’s none of their fn business.
They’re scheduling Full Timers 40 hrs a week. ‘Old Timers’ only need to average 28 hrs a week to be Full Time. So unpaid time off is allowed for Full Timers too.
Only part time is allowed to take unpaid time off. Unless u have a really good manager that will over look that rule for u.
Don't put Unpaid Time Off choose PTO then 0 hrs.
Request the full day with pto, then change the hours from 8 to 15 minutes. It will still leave the “full day” box checked, but you’re only using 15 minutes of your time off.
