Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Kovacevich was just on CNBC for damage control.

Guy could hardly string a sentence together he was so uncomfortable. He was putting Chainsaw's "uh, umm" rate to shame.

I don’t want to see people be blamed for something they didn’t do wrong either.

My comments were to the replies to this post who are telling people they need to get over the fake accounts scandal. I’m assuming you wouldn’t spew such bs if “ you don’t really care if I/anyone get over it or not.”

Don't really care if you get over it or not, what I do care about is people blaming other people that did nothing wrong. Maybe your org was "part of the problem", but mine was not.

Anyone who thinks WF culture has ever been great is part of the problem.

He should be in prison in place of Carrie.

Wells Fargo was never a good place to work period. So many bad things happened to me there when I was there between 2005 and 2016. I saw so much criminal behavior such as $exual harassment, embezzlement, incompetence, and $exual voyeurism. It should be broken up now as part of their living will.

Why does anyone give Kovacevich the time of day? The man is a disgrace. He is the CEO who conceived the sales goals that spawned Wells Fargo’s poisoned culture, and he has never paid a penny and never answered for his role.

And for those of you who say to “get over the fake accounts scandal”, please educate yourself on the entire picture of mismanagement, lack of oversight, arrogance and greed which has ruled the culture at WFC over the past 20 or more years. It’s no different today, which is why we are still under the Federal Asset Cap.

Agree with all. Need to get over the fake accounts. Stock is at a two year low. Apparently what we know... they know.
onto the "panic fear not facts" view of Di-k Kovacevich

No contagion, nothing like 2008. I lived thru 2008" Tried to stratify
the banks Strong, more capitalized .
Regional banks that have a liquidity issue. Shocked by svb. Panic fear … not facts.
Someone needs to get him a decent microphone....
His talk was interupted by "more realtime" headline coming out of st louis... Bullard... BNKD reached its high squeeze of the day 15.91

A lot of noise out there can trigger an emotional response that hurts more than helps. Focusing on the stock price today isn't a reliable metric when looking at broader market conditions, WF asset cap and overall tarnished image for 7 years running. The work today is about shoveling sh1t, about clearing a path. My comfort zone is seeing incremental improvement over the next 5 years, starting after we hit the bottom of this cycle.

It's laughable that today the stock is less then when Chainsaw started. I guess stock buybacks @$60 didn't pan out. How long has he been CEO? Lol NY failures. But keep blaming it on account scandal. It's surely not the terrible way he treats "employees". /S

Agree with poster "account scandal was garbage". Bank was a great place to work up to the Wachovia merger. Stock now stagnant and NY mngt. knocking stage coach into the ditch. 35 plus years, a wild ride, really sad to see the scale of offshoring and dei cr-p being force fed to what were once Team members and made a priority other than improving the banks products and getting the emloyees a reason to care. A rotting, decaying bank no one wants to work for. Always have the good memories of the first twenty years though.

Wish Kovacevich and Stumpf were running the stagecoach now.

“But but but but the FAKE ACCOUNTS!!!!”

Fu----g get over it losers. The fake accounts was garbage but they built the best big bank in the country and it had the best culture.

Culture sucks now and the best parts of it are being systemically dismantled, especially the mortgage business. And yet despite all the changes, firings, layoffs, “strategic retrenchments from mortgage” etc…:the stock STILL sucks, ROA and ROE (management effectiveness) STILL lags our peers by a lot, there’s still no end in sight for the asset cap.

Pretty sad
