Just off the press: about 170 people will be receiving their termination letters next week in Germany in addition to the over 500 people that accepted the voluntary resignation program (in return for a severance payment).
It's been reported that workers council have been informed yesterday and started informing affected people, and the formal letters will be sent out Tuesday and Wednesday. In other reports news came up that company management played foul in the selection process on who has to go (social selection principle is mandated by German law) and have made up criteria in a way that mostly long-time, elderly employees will receive the pink slip next week...
