Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

Anyone else feel d-mb, discouraged, or embarrassed working here?

How is lower management handling things? Nothing adds up about this place and the demoralizing interactions are truly bizarre.

I've worked places where it felt almost like family. I don't know if it's just the culture, the size of the company, or what, but Viasat isn't one of them.

Hang around until the end. Pay is good. Govt side strategy still makes sense. $10000 hammers.

That’s all sad and there is understanding and empathy.
But if you can’t do the job you take some leave or empower others to drive the bus.
Plus, nobody seems concerned about the 100s of “layoffs that ain’t layoffs” happening October and November. That is also sad.

Guru posted on social media and Mark’s children shared the news on LinkedIn.

Sad part is Viasat’s top 2 going through personal sh-t this year… Guru abruptly lost his dad and Mark is a widow now. 😔

Def a stain on my resume that I'll have to explain away. Like what in he-l did the company accomplish since VS2 in 2017.

In my group everyone is acting like everthing’s normal, people are optimistic about potential upcoming deals, no talk of the stock or rifs or anything.

Duh yeah. It’s day by day. In my [ex-ISAT acquired by VSAT] world all I can tell you is 3 layers of my management got layed off by our L2 and L3 and things are not working anymore. Global Ops, if you are interested.
I am truly embarrassed to be a VSAT employee (it was so much better before) and just tell friends and family I’m working at “Inmarsat”.
I expect myself and maybe all of us will be put out of our misery soon as the business is in free fall and my L2 & L3 could care less.
