Is there be any update on this? I am close to retiring and this would be incentive this.
Voluntarily leaving your job may impact your eligibility to collect unemployment benefits.
There will be two categories of people who will volunteer for a layoff; those that actually contribute and are passionate about their job, and those slugs that want a payoff and subsequent unemployment so they can sit on their a-s at home doing nothing - similar to what they’re currently doing at “work.”

If VSP were offered in any operations organization, the news would spread like wild fire in less than 24 hrs..
There have been no verifiable accounts on this venue, nor any other..
Not to mention, that's not how it's been done for over two decades..

Can confirm it's offered broadly and not guaranteed to be accepted if you decide to volunteer.
@lwx+1tfqE9a7 it's not an individual ask, it's offered in a broader scale to groups/organizations and people who want to take advantage of it can submit their request. Its also not a guarantee the person putting the request in will get it.
If you’re a hard worker, you’re not going to be asked to separate from the company. The company isn’t going to ask those who hustle to step aside.. they are still trying to run a successful biz.. if you are asked that means you either don’t have that hustle or you have had that level of conversation (willing to take a package) with your front line manager in the past.. that’s the bottom line!

No one here can answer that. If you're offered a volunteer package it will tell you everything you need to know.
The job market is really tough right now. Some of my friends have been out of work for over a year and still haven't landed anything. Even finding entry-level positions is a real challenge. My current job situation is pretty lousy, but I would not want to be laid off. If I got laid off, at least I'd have time to look for a better job using the 60 day garden leave. It's kind of like be careful what you wish for!
