Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Shame on Follett

Manager that received a pay cut here. I am hoping the upper management reads this. I had to take the cut because I live in a difficult employment area, and the layoff was too risky. Your pay cut is going to mean I live off of Ramen noodles. Nobody in America should have to live like that as a full time employee. Shame on you.

Correction:
Have to wonder how many people are on the team at JRC calling people who worked at Follett for decades losers and, adding + or - to make the people they have treated so badly look like THEY are the problem?

JRC thinks that controlling the narrative will change the perception of their failure.

Have to wonder how many people are on the team at JRC calling people who worked at Follett for decades losers and time for them to go, adding + or - to make the people they treated so badly look like THEY are the problem?

Cheers to the comment below!!
Follett/jrc has no idea what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck already.
When one person is doing the job of 6, nothing will get done. Customer service and that is about it. All the freight that is being sent is still sitting in backrooms because there is no one to check it in and get it on the floor.
We aren't even allowed a lunch break because we have too much work to do. Campuses frown upon us closing the store for a half hour for lunch, or for five minutes to use the restroom, as we are jeopardizing the loss of a sale or two.
But it's fine... everything's fine.

@xcv+1lZ2Sncv I’m so glad you know my situation better than I do. Silly me. I suppose I can pay my bills with your knowledge. Could it be that I was already not capable of paying all my bills with my small salary? Could it be that I was barely able to survive on what I made before this pay cut was announced? I’m so glad you’re the expert on finances of people you don’t know. I guess I can magically survive because we are being paid above minimum wage. Right?

And Ramen will become acceptable. It will become the new normal. Too sad to contemplate.

If you get a 10% cut, you should only have to work 90% right?

You make it sound like you’re making minimum wage. You’re not. There are people in this country that are and that’s a shame because that’s not a livable wage. You’re still making enough to survive, and yes, a pay cut sucks, I’m not diminishing that but you’re not going to be poverty stricken. Don’t try to compare yourself to someone that’s a day away from living on the streets, that’s not you.

I feel you. This "restructuring" is reprehensible. Please prove to me, home office, how this is "good for the company" by removing everyone from the front line. The only people this is good for is the corporate people. I really hope this company crashes and burns, and the rest of us front line workers can sit back and laugh at the devastation that follett/jrc has wreaked upon themselves.
Have the live you deserve, corporate lackeys.
