Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Don’t let anyone put you down!

A few scaremongers saying DXC staff are useless and will not find jobs outside of DXC.

What utter bullsh-t.

DXC serve some FTSE 100 and lots of other top end companies.

The fact we support their IT tells you that they are not as cutting edge as some scaremongers would have you believe.

In fact most companies globally haven’t been doing great for a number of years, which means their IT is as it was 10 years ago give or take a few updates.

With the addition of cloud what has really revolutionised IT? And die hard on premise boys will say Cloud is sh--e too.

DXC’ers can get jobs in MOD, Healthcare, other comparable IT companies, literally ANY company we hold accounts for as well as a multitude of smaller up and coming companies.

Anyone tells you the likes of Twitter are in another league… well Musk just made 75% redundant and Twitter is still working and some would argue it’s faster than before. Work that out. Most did literally fu-k all.

I’ve got over 20 years with this company and believe me when I tell you our clients need all the help we can give them. If we were cr-p they’d all be gone. DXC may not be winning new business, but they are not losing big business either.

I’m not pro DXC, just saying don’t let any fu---r tell you you’re sh-t. ITIL is ITL, no different in any other company. DBA’s are the same. Heck I upgraded a client from SSMS 2009 to 2019. Cloud engineering is the same wherever you go. And I can go on and on!

"Everyone else is just a hanger on determined to slow things down, and give reasons things can't be done,"

It's an art form, you need to do as little as you can get away with and jump ship when you can't avoid delivery.

DXC loves a high biller.

No matter the size of the company, there's typically just a couple of people how really keep it together. Everyone else is just a hanger on determined to slow things down, and give reasons things can't be done, because they've always been done that way or they don't know how to, and don't want to either. The management don't trust the staff, the staff now don't trust the management. The clients like the slow lumbering way of doing things, they cannot cope with cutting edge, as they fear despite all the hype, at least they know what they have kind of works. Who else would take on legacy like DXC does!

The OP must be an entitled union guy. Mate, wake up and smell the coffee. Either upskill seriously to justify your high salary and position or the nature's "survival of the fittest" will take its course. You just cannot have English and the accent to survive in the IT industry - that was the case a decade ago.

So work hard and play hard.

Wait for a pure play to take over and story will be over for all the freeloaders and they will filter out all the garbage and take care of the real hard working and commited folks.

If you have been working for DXC for more than three years in the UK then you are not employable in the IT industry. The Defence sector especially, if you are still with DXC you are by definition an unemployable waster.

@urh+1jV5HOu9 "We are not cr-p. Our leaders, graduates who’ve found themselves in high level jobs with no skills, poor apprentices and bureaucracy is holding this company back."

To be fair, is that the apprentices' & grads' fault? This company cuts corners by dangling a carrot in front of lower paid employees, which is how you end up with ITO / Desktop leads & Service Delivery Managers who are barely getting paid above their entry level salary. I myself was on less than £20k for my whole 6 year career at DXC and I regret not moving on sooner, but I was forever getting dangled the promise of a 10K pay rise that would never come through.

Its got nothing to do with how smart or clever your are, its a case of if your In the Accenture gang you can loot the company, and if your not in the gang you don't even get a raise.

Just look at Mary or Vinod on 5 million for basic work, they aren't fixing anything clever or smart but they are in Mickys ex Accenture gang.

Show me a Micky gang member whose not on millions, its like western film blowing up the bank and riding off with the loot.

Seizing the market and growth are just fancy talk. Who needs growth when you can loot.

As a former DXC SAP expert I now work at SAP. I rejected the first job offer and three month later accepted the offer for my current job.

Business challenges are the same everywhere. They all run Win10, all have similar apps, all need IT support. Sure we may not be great at SAP and few other things. But I guarantee you a DXC SAP expert will never find it difficult to find a SAP job.

PM’s are PM’s wherever you go. I could go on and on.

A guy from a gold company in DXC practically took his whole department to another UK company he found a job with.

A certain UK ITO lead is taking staff from DXC too. The previous VP took a boat load from DXC too.

We are not cr-p. Our leaders, graduates who’ve found themselves in high level jobs with no skills, poor apprentices and bureaucracy is holding this company back.

AND ALSO FU----G HAVING MULTIPLE CEO’S NAMED MIKE!!
