Many Medicare teams are still WFH and most likely will remain so after the sale to HCSC. It's no guarantee, but depending on the team, chances are higher remain remote if you jump ship to Medicare. The good thing is you will only be a Cigna employee for a few more months.

I was job eliminated earlier this year after 20 years. The oldest tenured employee in my area. I worked one particular job board like a job every day. After an 8 week vacation, My landed a wonderful role with a company who prides themselves as being a “work from home first priority” company. I was roughly 48 miles from an office, so thankfully, my departure was timed just right.
There are tons of jobs…you just have to work job searching like a job 8-10 hours a day.
Good Luck, Everyone!

Can they change your office alignment from the one you were initially assigned? Some people have been assigned to offices 100s of miles away and have been WAH for YEARS....

@ujj+1s5Pyc56 , Is that mentioned somewhere ? I mean what if I do 7 hours on Tuesday and Thursday and cover rest 6 hours on another day ? Are they going to go that deep ?

Yes, it is written on the FOW policy on Iris. It’s no longer 20 hours…they want people in for three days a week and specify it should be a full working day. Your guess is as good as mine if/how they choose to enforce it.

Also for those who have no one locally to work with, sitting in the middle of tons of people who are collaborating is VERY distracting and unproductive. So now mandating those unproductive days? Your agenda is showing, Cigna, and that agenda is to lose people.

My team is not co-located. My boss and boss' boss are still designated wfh despite being as near to an office as I am. Until the managers must do what we are doing, they can pound sand. Also time to polish up that resume. Sad because I like what I do but...

As typical, Cigna is woefully behind the times

https://www.fastcompany.com/91106360/rip-office-bestie-heres-the-upside-to-a-diminishing-need-to-have-a-friend-at-work

A recent Capterra survey asked nearly 1,000 U.S. employees to rank the impact of a set of factors on their job satisfaction. Of the 14 variables tested, “relationships with coworkers” finished last. Gen Z participants ranked this factor the highest of any age bracket, but even half of that demographic said workplace friendships were “not at all important” or “minimally important.”

Today, employers might see the productivity improvements they’re looking for by investing in their employees’ lives outside of work. In the aforementioned Capterra poll, “work-life balance” finished as the second most important factor for workplace satisfaction, and the decline of office friendships may be a byproduct of this more significant trend. Employers need to listen to their employees’ hierarchy of needs to deliver desirable benefits and optimize their productivity.

In newer business models that emphasize work-life balance, employees are encouraged to seek community and fulfillment outside the office so they can come back to work refreshed and ready to contribute.

Badge swipe info has minimal benefits them compared to the IP data - which is much easier to read on a spreadsheet.

An EXEC commuting to Philly has a different financial circumstance and privilege compared to an advisor level employee. Pay more and make it make sense.

“I’m curious if they have the data to track hours in office vs badge swipes.”

At some offices like CT they have swipe in and swipe out data. At office where they only have swipe in, they can get reports to see iwhen your machine disconnected from the office network and also see if you connected in from a non-office IP later in the day.

Basically they can tell when you are in the office and not.

It is draconian, disempowering, micromanaging how we do our jobs, and treating us like children that need to be corralled.

GTFO as soon as you can.

It will be four days then five days a week next. And if it were up to ELT they’d be able to roll back salary increases to 1970s levels, as well as get rid of the 5 day work week and many other labor rules.

It was insulting to hear “we care deeply about our co-workers”. It is clear they are wanting people to quit to avoid layoffs, but also whittle down staff to with-the-program loyalists or sheeple who will do whatever they are told.

Employer of necessity, not employer of choice.

more punishment for those unfortunately tapped to report in person. zero effort to level the playing field (same role, same level, same distance from office colleagues allowed to remain w@h while cubes are empty with name tags but no people.) plant as many questions as you want related to ozempic.
you can't draw a smiley face on this atrocious lack of care for your employees.
all you care about is filling your billionaire pockets D.C.
disgusting.

Don’t forget employees are expected to work a full day (ie eight hours) while working in person.

I’m curious if they have the data to track hours in office vs badge swipes.

In-person No Seat Assigned is replacing the Office Aligned - Interim WAH. It doesn’t look like anything changed except the title. You are WAH but could be called back to the office at some point.

HR aware of these forums and monitor them: confirmed.

I’d LOVE to see the ‘data’ they used to come up with this.
