You must return all company equipment before you go. If you don't, that is plain theft. There is no other way to put it.

  • What an asshoe, if the company doesnt ask for its back then they are giving it to you as it costs more for them to ship ,inventory the returns

In regard to "Another ex colleague still has their MOD laptop", if DXC aren't going to do anything about it then maybe the person should ask MOD what to dowith it... that might cause a stir!

DXC hasn't done proper asset management for years. Not just with laptops and respective accessories for employees and clients, but managing network devices or the cloud, as well. Some odd looking USB drives loitered around some office? "Must be from Phil at tech support". Managing Windows 2000/2003 servers exposed to the public internet? "The customer won't pay us to upgrade these devices.". Deployed a new instance, but now having trouble to see what's running on it? "We forgot to add it into our dozen asset management tools.". I could go on.
DXC is so disgustingly reactive in this area that they we're willing to put clients at risk of rogues devices or cyber attacks just to save a bit of money. Management should be ashamed.

Who is this useless guy! People like these have to be weeded out to make this place better and back in shape. Hope management is looking into this.

Lame post. Get a free keyboard or other short life cr-p. Big win there. Do some real work or something of value.

Looters come in various forms - in kind or in wbs (aka just fill time and do nothing). It goes without saying that a bunch of people are working hard to get this ship in the right direction and there is a bunch of others.....

The value of used computer gear is less than the shipping cost. I have several old junk laptops. Maybe when I finally quit I'll throw them all in the same box and let cheapskate corp figure it out.

@ugo+1juObFzG- Yes... you're right. They clearly state that they are not bothered about stuff like headsets, mouse, keyboard etc., in which case it is fine to retain those.
Client equipment is actually DXC's responsibility as DXC is the entity that puts a person on the client's premises. Having MOD laptop in possession after quitting is a dangerous breach of national security...

@ugo+1juObFzG that implies the company actually cares.

I have a client laptop which they still haven't arranged collection for despite me asking several times. Another ex colleague still has their MOD laptop and has had no joy from the company trying to get it picked up.

Also, policy states they basically aren't bothered about anything except asset tagged kit like laptops
