Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

DFS layoffs and Mid year reviews

I don’t think there will be additional “layoffs” like the ones Monday until later in the year. Correct me if I am wrong, but the Monday layoffs were probably part of the 81 cited in the WARN earlier this year.

What Capital One will probably look to do is leverage the mid-year stack reviews to cull more people from the herd. I don’t believe they need to file a WARN for those since it is technically based on “performance”.

My bet is once they’ve axed the mid year people they will begin to evaluate for the final round or two of integration layoffs.

So we were told that if they offer a job and we do not take it there is no severance. We are not being told about the layoffs. We find out more information on line

@wy 60 days from when ur delivered the pip. You either have the 60 days to complete it, or opt out and go on garden leave for 60 days

@wj so if you opt out, when would last day normally be? Just trying to get an idea how this works at C1.

@tx that is correct. Offer in place through end of Q2 2027.

I heard that if legacy DFS employees are below strong stack ranked and PIPed out they we get the same severance as those RIFed, not the typical PIP package.

@b2 They already sent the notice to people (last day, 8/6 or 9/4) this Monday, but they will give different separation dates, so there's no separate notice for the last day, 9/4 people. I got laid off during Feb, so they will send notice to tell you if you are on a working transaction or non-working transaction, so usually, 9/4 people will work for some days, then stop working or not. Your manager will tell you if you need to work during the day, but refusing to work during this time, it will affect the severance.

@a5 and the 221 for 8/6 were the ones noticed on Monday, right?

@b2 I think you are correct - the 221 employees would have been the ones notified this week.

@a5 the 221 are the ones that were notified Monday right? I ask because the 1000+ employee layoff event is dated as 5/4/26 but those employees found out in March? So given the ~60 notice the 58 dated 9/4 are going to be notified the first week of July? The dates are confusing to me

@a5 warn is for employee who have been notified.

The pip reduction haven’t been notified so it will be in addition to this

I take it back — The moment I posted this, the moment this got posted, Illinois updated their WARN. Cap One will layoff the following on the effective dates:

7/1 - 3
8/6 - 221 (damn)
9/1 - 1
9/4 - 58 (damn again)
10/2 - 1

Now I’m not sure if the WARN is in fact related to mid year stack. Seems insane to stack out and PIP 8-10% of associates + 284 associates now through October but who knows.
