one side- silent RIF's, other side, giving small retention bonus 1- 3k , which will vest in 18 months, what a company!

the amount is so trivial it amounts to public humiliation. Blatant attempt to pump up stock price by issuing more stock to people who can't sell it for an extended period. Pump and dump has been executed. Watch for management stock sales.
@a5 exactly. Its such an insult.
Nah. Being fired was definitely better.
@tm Yes. Beats being fired
@gw Is there even a reason for any of someone to stay at a fintech when there is no bonus?
Why would you cry about free money? How can that be a negative? Yes, you can reject it, but why in the world would you? Unless you plan on leaving in the next 18 months? Some of you are either very delusional or just stupid.
@gp Strangely enough it was explained to me in this manner as well, it will immediately be disbursed, then simultaneously I was told it was after the 18 months as a "stock" bonus.
is there a way to reject it?
It’s certainly not enough to give me pause about leaving over the next 18 months, which defeats the purpose.
They haven’t officially offered the bonus from what I’ve seen, but I believe it will be a cash bonus that is given immediately, but that part of accepting it means you agree that if you leave before 18 months, they will claw it back. Probably the whole bundle.
I will not accept it period
Oh my goodness. If someone likes their job, great, but is anyone who's miserable really going to consider hanging around 18 months for a grand or two? Isn't that, like, $5 a day for the latter? A retention bonus better start at five figures.
I can tell @bz is a newbie. Can somebody tell @bz that yhe money is via RSU only available after working here 18 months and that you will never know if you will have the chance to cash out 2k? Also that other companies have better even start up companys with negative balance sheets have fae better retention packages and incentives?
Those bonuses are free money, I'll take it.
That bonus is really will have a negative effect. It is disappointing and humiliating. It was better not to be offered.
and the so called vps, svps enjoying life, travelling, making millions and paying the slaves peanuts, that's why their portfolios are 70% down thanks to the stock, karma is biting back.
