A lot of fear in Seagate Springtown over the rising numbers of Covid positive employees.Management seem to be downplaying the numbers involved.The thermal imaging cameras are redundant in the fact that employees with covid can easily pass the thermal temperature test.There is zero social distancing in both fabs in so much that its impossible to do do.Deep cleans involve a couple of cleaners with bottles of IPA and a handful of text wipes.There has not been a risk assessment taken on how unsafe it is to work in such close proximities.We need management to be honest and also take the importance of employees safety over a few heads.

I heard Seagate monitors this site and all websites in the cloud using secret encrypted code in the hard disk drives. NSA and STX are both 3 letters long, coincidence? I think not.

This seems to be management or HR released statement, so you will qualified to answer these.Explain what happens in a deep clean.Explain why numerous employees with Covid 19 are still getting on site.Explain to fab workers how they are supposed to adhere to social distancing rule in fabs.Explain why there has been no risk assessment taken out in fans.Explain why seagate wont engage with and be honest with local trade unions when asked for information on the numbers of positive covid cases in seagate Springtown.

STST have gone above and beyond to ensure that the factory is a very safe place to work during this pandemic with abundance of caution .We have all our day staff working in their homes since March and factory floor workers fully protected whilst on site.Despite having all those that can work at home which is up to 200 workers our factory has met and surpassed all its schedules requirements and build plans and have made all our ships which will make for a excellent financials again over the next quarters.There is currently a comprehensive review underway of the remote workers job functions to determine if these posts are necessary or not across all job functions and whether these or some of these functions can be eliminated/ outsourced or shared with our other global sites in order to ensure that this factory is 100% efficient and is totally lean in its manufacturing and that there is no duplication of unnecessary roles which this pandemic is currently bringing to our attention .STST will exit this pandemic a much stronger ,lean ,cost efficient, world class manufacturing site with a bright future together that Seagate and Northern Ireland will be proud off and one off the safest environments you could ever be employed in.

Is this the kind of world you want to live in, where employees are scanned before entering work, everyone is sequestered away from each other and personal interactions are frowned upon...all for a virus "so severe" the only way to tell if you have it is to get tested, (in many instances, tested numerous times).
